PTP Psychologist at BUP Stockholm

Are you a newly graduated psychologist with an interest in child and adolescent psychiatry? Start your psychology career as a PTP psychologist at BUP Stockholm! Here you will develop in your professional role by providing evidence-based care to children and adolescents with psychiatric conditions.

BUP Specialized Outpatient Care consists of eleven outpatient units and a day emergency. The outpatient units work with assessment and treatment, both psychological and pharmacological, for depression, anxiety disorders, oppositional defiance disorder, eating disorders, PTSD, and conditions in young children. The development in the section is aimed at increasing access to the right interventions for children and young people in need of child psychiatric care while simultaneously creating good conditions for our competent staff to provide the care that our patients need.

Job Responsibilities

As a PTP psychologist, you will be offered developing and varied tasks with us. The tasks mainly consist of assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and investigation of children and adolescents with psychiatric conditions in need of specialist care. This means that you will provide care to patients with multiple concurrent psychiatric diagnoses. Since our patients are children, guardians are an important part of the care, and much contact also occurs with them.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a psychology degree with a CBT focus, graduated no later than June 2026, and approved for service in Sweden. Experience in child and adolescent psychiatric assessment and treatment work is an advantage. We welcome an open and engaged attitude, good collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently.

Employment Type

Fixed-term employment for one year. Full-time. Start date according to agreement.

BUP Specialized Outpatient Care is part of BUP Stockholm. BUP Stockholm offers specialized psychiatric care for children and adolescents from 0 to 17 years within Stockholm County. We are part of the Stockholm County healthcare area, which is a provider within Region Stockholm. Together, we at BUP have about 1,000 employees who each year meet over 22,000 children, adolescents, and their families.

The position will be filled on the condition that it does not need to be used for internal relocation, according to current regulations.

For patient-related work within the Stockholm County healthcare area:

  • background checks are applied before hiring decisions according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during employment.
  • employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment medical examination, according to current directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
  • in addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed staff with patient contact.
