The Stockholm Sjukhem Foundation now offers a unique opportunity for an occupational therapist to be involved in the development of our newly acquired nursing home in Näsby Slottspark. We are expanding – with new nursing homes designed to provide the best elderly care.

About the role of the occupational therapist

As an occupational therapist, you will be part of our interdisciplinary team where you will closely collaborate with other professionals. Together with the physiotherapist, you will be responsible for providing our residents with person-centered and daily rehabilitative interventions. Rehabilitation occurs at various levels within the organization and is an integral part of the social and health care services offered. An important part of rehabilitation for the elderly takes place in everyday activities. The physiotherapist and occupational therapist assess the elderly's needs and determine whether any interventions are best carried out by licensed personnel or nursing staff.

Your tasks also include, among other things;

• conducting functional assessments of ADL ability
• prescribing and testing assistive devices
• guiding staff in a function-preserving approach
• assessing rehabilitation needs and developing rehabilitation plans
• guiding and training employees in ergonomics and transfer training
• guiding staff in an active and participatory daily life for our residents

The position is a permanent position offering a workload of 80%, with a 6-month probationary period applied. We apply individual salary setting and start date will be agreed upon.

Are you our new colleague? We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist who is attentive and confident in your profession and has a strong interest in working with the elderly. Previous experience in elderly care is advantageous, but there is an opportunity for introduction and mentorship if you lack experience. You are development-oriented and want to influence the future of elderly care. In our work, your contribution and engagement are significant in shaping our common work environment. We apply a theme-based working method which requires collaboration and communication skills, but you are also expected to operate independently when the situation requires. This means taking responsibility and acting solution-oriented on your own when you encounter challenges. The position requires good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form. Based on Näsby Slottspark's focus, we view positively if you have knowledge and interest in supporting our activity coordinator based on your profession so that activities can be adapted to allow more people to participate. We would also like you to combine preventive and rehabilitative interventions in a way that allows our residents to enjoy our beautiful surroundings and nature.

About the Näsby Slottspark nursing home

Stockholm Sjukhem aims to provide more opportunities for individualized elderly care based on individual needs. The residence offers 54 apartments spread over three floors, one of which has a somatic focus and two have a dementia focus.

Within elderly care, we have a unique organization for health and medical services. The doctor responsible for medical services in the nursing homes under the foundation's management is employed by us. This strengthens continuity and collaboration within the professional teams. With us, there is a drive and a willingness to meet the individual and offer good care based on our concept of A Good Home. A concept rooted in the foundation's purpose clause from 1867.
