Physiotherapist at Karolinska University Hospital

Are you a physiotherapist who doesn’t want every day to look the same? Do you have an interest in emergency care, research, and development? Are you attracted by the idea of working at the forefront of geriatric care while collaborating with experienced colleagues from various professions? Then you might be the one we are looking for.

What we offer

About the position

Within the Multisick Elderly unit, we meet our frail elderly patients, often with multiple diagnoses to consider. In our unit, we follow the patient all the way from direct admissions from the emergency department to our acute care unit GAVA, to one of our wards, and then discharge from the hospital to home, assisted living, or geriatrics.

In these departments, the physiotherapist has a defined role in the investigation, which is multiprofessional. The investigations may include neurological, cognitive, or somatic assessments, medication reviews, collecting information from relatives regarding symptomatology, and observations on the ward focusing on cognitive and functional abilities.

The work involves being able to conduct and evaluate functional and activity assessments, promote physical activity to prevent complications, and prescribe assistive devices when necessary. You will work both independently and in teams and participate in training the ward staff.

Supervision of Swedish and international students is a natural part of your role. Your tasks also include contributing to the development of care programs and workflows based on evidence and the patient's needs.

We are looking for someone who

  • wants to be part of developing the future of healthcare for geriatric patients and contribute to clinical research, development, and education
  • is adaptable to a changing everyday life. You can quickly change your perspective and approach and see opportunities in change
  • enjoys working collaboratively with others to achieve common goals. You relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner, listening, communicating, and resolving conflicts constructively
  • plans, organizes, and prioritizes your work effectively. For you, it is important to set and adhere to timelines.

Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
