Who am I?

I am a guy in my early 30s who, due to severe autism, requires personal assistance. I am now looking for a new assistant to join my support team. I live in my own apartment in Kungälv.

My autism means that I need clear communication and a structured daily routine to feel well. In situations with intense stimuli or when I have difficulty expressing myself, I may react in ways that affect both myself and those around me. As an assistant, your task is to work preventively, reduce the risk of stress, and help me maintain calm through a low-arousal approach and clear, structured pedagogy.

In addition to autism, I have a severe intellectual disability and epilepsy. I do not have verbal speech but communicate through body language and visual supports. My need for assistance is extensive, which means you will assist me in all aspects of daily life - for example, personal hygiene, meal situations, dressing and undressing, as well as constant supervision.

What does a work shift look like?

Structure and predictability are important to me, so we follow a visual schedule throughout the day. Your primary task is to create security by preparing and guiding me through the various moments of daily life. You need to keep a meticulous watch over me throughout the day.

All activities are carried out from home with your support. After that, we have lunch and prepare for the afternoon's activities - where music is often on the schedule. If you have an interest in music, that's a big plus! It is an important part of my daily life and something we enjoy working with.

Who are you?

I am looking for someone who is calm, methodical, and attentive. You are secure in yourself and have the ability to work in a structured manner even in challenging situations. Experience working with individuals with autism, challenging behavior, and low-arousal approaches is advantageous.

Gender and age do not matter - the most important thing is personal suitability and that the chemistry is right.

Job Details:

The workload is 22 hours per week, which is just over half-time. It is a rolling 4-week schedule with varied working hours. Examples of working hours: 07-15, 07-07 (24-hour shifts), and 13-07, 15-07.

The position is to be filled immediately. Before you start working independently, you will receive thorough training/shadowing to ensure you feel secure in the role. Additionally, you will receive ongoing supervision in your work.
