Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon emissions and replace cars.
Are you our new Train Technician in Gothenburg?
Do you have a technical background, preferably experience in electrical systems, and want to be part of a global industry leader? Do you have the desire to develop, appreciate teamwork, and enjoy solving technical challenges? Then you might be the one we are looking for!
Your future role
You will report to Peter Mörfeldt (Depot Manager Motorvagshallen) and work together in a group with competent and engaged colleagues who will help you integrate into the work and the team in the best way.
The team you will join consists of 3 other technicians, one of whom is a team leader, and you will also collaborate with other functions within the depot. We are one of Alstom's smaller depots with 12 people distributed across 3 work teams.
Your task, together with your colleagues, is to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. The role also includes assessing the traffic safety condition. You should be able to follow instructions and carry out maintenance and commissioning accordingly.
At the depot in Gothenburg, Motorvagnshallen, you will work with all aspects of ongoing and preventive maintenance for X11, X12, and X14.
Your responsibilities also include:
- Performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and modifications on vehicles.
- The work is carried out according to instructions in existing systems.
- Registering and documenting information in our current systems regarding, for example, action text, material used, etc.
- Occasionally troubleshooting and correcting electrical faults on vehicles with the support of troubleshooters.
- Ensuring compliance with the requirements of the environmental, health, safety, and quality policy.
- Working according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Alstom Railway Safety Policy.
Who are you?
To succeed as a Train Technician, you need to have strong technical skills and an eye for detail.
You need to be structured and enjoy working according to clear processes. We also believe that you like to work towards deadlines to get the trains out on time. You are good at organizing and planning your work well.
We also think you are analytical and enjoy performing technical troubleshooting and finding solutions to problems. Furthermore, it is important that you are meticulous and have a high sense of responsibility, as the work of a Train Technician directly impacts the safety and health of all passengers. Good communication and collaboration skills are also important as you work together with other technicians and staff at our depot.
To succeed in the role:
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have all the skills. Instead, we have listed some that we believe will help you succeed and grow in this role:
- Education/experience or a strong passion for electrical systems, technology, and troubleshooting.
- Experience or understanding of technical work in the aviation, industrial, or automotive sectors or similar where repair and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and digital control systems have been part of your daily routine.
- We prefer that you are used to assembling electrical and mechanical components according to drawings and instructions.
- If you have good knowledge of electrical systems, that is a big plus.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting and the ability to solve complex problems is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the railway industry is a plus.
- Fluent communication in Swedish, both spoken and written.
As the tasks are significant for traffic safety, an approved medical health examination is required before any employment can begin, which will be arranged by Alstom.
The work involves shift work with holiday operations.
Are you the right person to take on this challenge and want to contribute to our continued development?
Then you are warmly welcome to submit your application as soon as possible. We only accept applications via our website. Selection and interviews are conducted continuously.
