Description

We are now looking for a teacher in Home and Consumer Studies qualified to teach grades 6-9.

The position is 80% and temporary until the end of the term in June 2027.

Jättestensskolan is a municipal primary school located in southern Biskopsgården, in Hisingen, Gothenburg. The catchment area is a mix of villas, townhouses, and apartment buildings. The school has approximately 615 students and about 75 staff members.

One indicator that Jättestensskolan is a stable and well-functioning school is that 90% of the students in grade 9 were eligible for vocational programs in high school in the spring of 2025. We are also one of three schools in Gothenburg with the highest application rates for preschool classes.

The school has a student health team and administration, along with its own caretaker.

We represent the entire primary school; preschool class, after-school care, and grades 1-9. We also offer recess activities and homework help. There are two schoolyards, and in addition to the regular classrooms, there are also craft rooms, an art room, a science room, a music room, a home economics room, a spacious gym, and a large common room.

We are an active school that places great emphasis on being physically active, as we believe this creates good conditions for learning for our students and a good working environment for our staff.

Job Responsibilities

We offer an exciting and challenging assignment where you work with the purpose and goal that all students should have a meaningful, stimulating, and challenging activity based on the Curriculum. The position includes planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching in your subject. As a teacher in Home and Consumer Studies, you will teach all classes in grades 6-9. The position also includes mentorship.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed teacher in Home and Consumer Studies qualified to teach grades 6-9. Experience in teaching is an advantage, but newly graduated teachers are also welcome to apply. It is also advantageous to have qualifications to teach in multiple subjects.

You are an engaged educator with good collaboration skills and a positive attitude, and you have the ability to create good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
