At Sahlgrenska University Hospital (SU), we have the competence to perform the most advanced treatments and procedures, which means we also have the latest medical technology. Within the Medical Technology Medical Information Systems (MTMIS) unit, we are about 40 employees who manage information technology related to modern medical technology products and support the healthcare provider in their responsibility for medical information systems (MIS), both clinically and in research. We are responsible for MIS and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) within Regional Laboratory Medicine, which consists of the laboratory medicine activities at SU, Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Hospitals in the West, and NU Healthcare.

The role we are looking for will be part of the section for Regional Laboratory Medicine within the MTMIS unit, which consists of about 20 employees, mostly based in Gothenburg. You will be part of a team working with LIS, integrations to LIS, and instrument connections for Clinical Chemistry. Your focus will primarily be in the Gothenburg area, but work at more hospitals in the region may be included.

Responsibilities

You will participate in the entire management lifecycle in close collaboration with Clinical Chemistry as well as with system suppliers and the region's IT organization.

• Procurement work and requirement specification
• User support and assistance to operations in LIS-related issues
• Troubleshooting and incident management
• Configuration of LIS, integrations to LIS, and instrument connections
• Quality work and requirement and system documentation
• Testing and evaluation before both implementations and upgrades
• Implementation of system changes
• Participation in consequence and risk analyses, information classifications, and validations
• Work with instrument connections within respective LIS
• Handling questions regarding Windows upgrades and various IT security enhancement activities.

The work is carried out both individually, within your team, and also in project form.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a systems scientist, civil engineer, or university engineer in IT or data, preferably with a medical technology focus, or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent. We are looking for someone with a strong interest in technology while being driven to help others and make a difference in healthcare. You have a few years of experience working with information systems, preferably in the field of medical technology. Experience with scripting and knowledge of databases for data extraction is also an advantage.

We believe you are stable and secure in yourself and clear when you communicate. You have no problem planning, taking responsibility, prioritizing, and can be flexible when needed in your work. You are good at seeing the big picture and are creative when it comes to solving problems.

You also enjoy teamwork and find it easy to collaborate. Along with being committed to delivering good service with quality and valuing good customer interaction within your team. In this position, it is a requirement that you can communicate in Swedish and English both verbally and in writing.
