About the job

Within the Swedish Transport Agency's operations for Type Approval, we currently have 29 employees distributed across two sections. We now need to hire more staff and therefore want you to join us. Here you will have the chance to be part of an engaged team and contribute to making future technical solutions for vehicles accessible.

Before a manufacturer can put a vehicle, such as a car or motorcycle, on the European market, they need to demonstrate that the vehicle meets the requirements set out in the regulations. One way to do this is through type approval. The same applies to systems and components within the road vehicle sector.

Within the Type Approval operations, we evaluate applications and exercise supervision to ensure that the technical services and manufacturers applying for permits with us have the quality required by applicable regulations. The same applies to the products that manufacturers seek approval for. If it later turns out that a product does not meet the requirements of the applicable regulations, we conduct special investigations. Manufacturers and technical services applying to us come from all over the world.

You will

depending on your profile and interests have the opportunity to work in one of the following areas;

• handle applications for type approval for vehicles, systems, and components, which means reviewing technical documentation and ensuring that the requirements in the regulations are met.

You must have

• a university degree or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent
• good knowledge and experience in reading and understanding regulations within the vehicle sector
• good knowledge of how vehicles and their systems and components work in theory and practice
• very good ability to communicate in Swedish and English in both speech and writing
• good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

It is meritorious if you also have

• knowledge of how the legislative process works within the EU and UN/UNECE
• experience working in the automotive industry with product development or emissions testing
• experience in investigative or administrative work
• experience working with certification or collaboration with type approval authorities.

The employment is permanent with placement in Borlänge or Gothenburg. Appointment according to agreement.

We normally apply a probationary period. As an employee with us, there is an opportunity to work remotely up to three days a week. The needs of the business and the nature of the tasks will determine whether and to what extent this is possible. An employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted. For some of our tasks in the security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
