We make society work for people on the road, on rail, in the air, and on the sea.
That is why we need the best competence. Our mission is important and has a significant impact on daily life – for both individuals and companies. At Transportstyrelsen, we take responsibility, treat everyone with respect, and value diversity. As an employee, you contribute to a sustainable future.
Due to the prioritization of the railway sector, we need to strengthen our work and expand our operations. Do you want to contribute to the development of the railway of the future? Are you a newly graduated or experienced engineer with a technical background and an interest in railway technology? Then apply for this position as a Technical Investigator within Rail Traffic! Your placement can be at one of Transportstyrelsen's operational locations where the section is currently represented: Borlänge, Stockholm, or Gothenburg.
About the job
You will work in the Rail Traffic Technology section within the Road and Railway Department. The section is responsible for permit assessment, primarily the approval of infrastructure, vehicles, and signaling technology within rail traffic. This position involves the approval of signaling technology (such as the train protection system ERTMS and interlockings) or infrastructure (such as track, electricity, tunnels, and platforms). You will base your assessments on both Swedish and European regulations when evaluating and approving new or modified signaling installations or infrastructure. Working as an investigator with us involves conducting investigations and analyses of documentation where you must apply legislation in a correct and legally secure manner. The role may also include participation in various regulatory development projects at both national and international levels. This means you must be able to read, speak, and discuss in English. Travel within Sweden and Europe may be required for this position. We value your analytical skills, structured working method, and ability to take independent responsibility for your own development.
As an employee with us, you will join a positive climate where we collaborate and support each other in our tasks. You will be part of a work group consisting of several colleagues with similar responsibilities, where we constantly work to develop our operations. To thrive with us, we believe you are driven by curiosity and a desire to develop.
You are important to us
Do you enjoy working with others and want to develop in your professional role? With us, you can expect career development, a trust-based management style, and a sustainable working life. We are a secure employer that cares about your health, offering time for wellness activities during work hours, flexible working hours, a generous number of vacation days, and extra days off.
