The Nature Schools Axevalla Horse Center, Svenljunga, Sötåsen, Uddetorp, and the Biological Vocational School serve as competence centers for the growth and development of the green industries. Together with industry and researchers, the administration drives energy projects and experimental activities at the forefront in the schools. Description

In the picturesque Sötåsen outside Töreboda, you will find a center for ecological and sustainable nature management.

Here we conduct organic and KRAV-certified farming with the help of a solid fleet of machines and the latest technology for sustainable crop production. The school has 260 hectares of arable land, 115 hectares of its own forest, and organic garden cultivation in open fields. We also have smaller greenhouses. On the farm, there are 65 dairy cows, 60 young stock, 45 ewes with lambs, and 40 sows with piglets. Here at Sötåsen, one can study the Nature Management Program with a focus on agriculture, animals, and gardening. The school also has an adapted high school and adult education.

Job Responsibilities

As field staff in gardening, you will be responsible for open-field vegetable cultivation where the purpose of the operation is primarily to create a good teaching environment and to produce vegetables for the administration's kitchen. You will be involved in planning and working with vegetable cultivation mainly in open fields but also in greenhouses together with other staff and students at the school. You will also participate in harvesting and storing vegetables as well as delivering vegetables to the school's kitchen. The position will involve both solitary work and collaboration with colleagues and students. Guiding students is part of the job. In open-field cultivation and harvesting, we largely use larger agricultural machines. Manual work occurs in tasks such as weeding. The work is varied, developmental, and requires precision.

Qualifications

• Tractor driver and a willingness to learn special machines for vegetable cultivation.
• Good knowledge of vegetable cultivation.
• Driving license B for manual transmission.
• We are looking for a person with good collaboration skills, flexibility, and humility.
• We place great importance on personal suitability.

Meritorious

• Vocational teacher.
• Experience with special machines used in mechanized open-field cultivation.
• Experience and knowledge of large-scale vegetable cultivation.
• Experience in organic farming.
• Pesticide applicator certification.
• Driver's license for wheel loader.

Conditions
