The City of Gothenburg is looking for someone who wants to cultivate sustainably in the heart of the city.

Do you have a green thumb and an interest in small-scale, organic vegetable gardening? Now you have the chance to experience life as an urban farmer this summer!

Job Responsibilities

What does the job entail?

You will be responsible for the maintenance of our model gardens at Angered Farm and Lilla Änggården. Here, vegetables are grown according to the market gardening principle, which is an efficient and climate-smart way of farming on a small area. Your tasks include:

• Harvesting, watering, and weeding
• Using smaller machines, e.g., two-wheeled tractor
• Delivering fresh vegetables to municipal operations in the local area

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience in organic farming
• Has a B driver's license
• Is self-motivated, responsible, and has good physical ability
• Ideally has studied (or is studying) small-scale vegetable gardening

Practical Information:

Period: July 1 - August 11
Scope: 6 weeks, of which the first two involve training alongside the regular urban farmer. After that, you will work independently.

Conditions

Before a possible interview, you will need to present a passport/national ID/certificate of residence issued by the Swedish Tax Agency and possibly proof of residence permit if you have citizenship outside the EU/EEA. This is to ensure your identity and that you have the right to work in Sweden. You may also be asked to provide proof of qualifications if this is a requirement for the position.
