Vårviks Gård is part of the Employment Market Unit's Preparatory Unit, where practical activities are conducted for participants who, for various reasons, are far from the regular labor market.

Connected to the operations are three job coaches with different specializations and an animal caretaker, as well as a curator who divides their time among all the activities of the Preparatory Unit.

Responsibilities

Your role as a job coach will be to work closely with participants in their daily tasks and instruct and coach them in the execution of their work assignments, combined with motivational conversations. The tasks that participants perform at the farm are varied and related to farm management, such as animal care, cultivation, and some renovation work according to traditional methods.

Alongside the execution of work tasks, you will identify areas for development among the participants and create opportunities for them to practice these skills. We see this as an important part of the participant's process to become more employable and take the next step towards self-sufficiency. You will need to ensure that the work tasks are adapted to the individual needs of the participants and also adjust your pedagogical approach in how you teach the various work tasks. The work is always centered around the participant and requires you to be present in the operations together with the participant.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in social pedagogy, behavioral science, or other relevant education for the profession. You need to have work experience in guiding individuals who require extra support, e.g., individuals living with mental health issues, neuropsychiatric diagnoses, or various physical and/or cognitive disabilities. You can compile simpler work ability assessments and thus have good documentation habits and language skills.

As a job coach with a focus on maintenance and farm management, interest, knowledge, and experience in outdoor maintenance, renovation work, and basic carpentry are required. You will partly work together with the Preparatory Unit's City Care Team and their job coaches. The role also includes developing activities for participants related to crafts and collaborating with colleagues on the farm's other areas related to animal care and gardening/cultivation.

A driving license (B) is a requirement.

The Preparatory Unit is undergoing development of both operations and working methods, and you will be part of continuing the work that has begun. Therefore, you need to be driven to work with operational development and find new solutions. To thrive with us, you need to have a high degree of independence and responsibility, be able to collaborate with colleagues and partners, and have a strong belief in the individual's abilities.
