We are about 60 dedicated employees working within the Local Cleaning and Food services, contributing to a safe, pleasant, and sustainable everyday life for the municipality's residents. We are now looking for a Team Leader for Food who wants to lead and develop the meal service, with a particular focus on elderly care, where each meal contributes to quality of life and well-being.

Team Leader for Meal Service

Do you want to help create a special touch in the everyday lives of our elderly and younger residents? We are now seeking an engaged and secure team leader for the meal service with a particular focus on elderly care, but the role also includes schools and preschools. With us, you will have a meaningful leadership role in a beautiful island municipality close to the sea and nature – and if you commute, you will be commuting in the right direction. Job Description

As a Team Leader, you will have overall responsibility for the daily operations within the meal service and lead a team of 12 employees. The focus of the role is on elderly care, where meals are a central part of the care and an important moment of the day for residents as well as for those working in home care.

You will be responsible for menu planning and ordering raw materials, ensuring that meals are nutritious, safe, and tailored to individual needs. The work includes planning lunch and dinner for all 365 days of the year, including holidays. You will drive the work with special diets and texture-modified diets and maintain close communication with care staff and dietitians to create meals that meet medical needs while also promoting enjoyment and comfort.

In this role, you will lead and delegate tasks, plan staffing, and actively work on workplace environment, quality, and hygiene monitoring. You will conduct development conversations, introduce new employees, and hold workplace meetings. Together with the unit manager, you will work on recruitment, financial monitoring, and business development.

You will also be responsible for inventory, invoice management, and approval, and you will be an important link between the operation, management, and partners. If necessary, you will participate in practical work in the kitchen.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience in leadership, preferably within meal services and particularly in elderly care. You have good knowledge of food hygiene, nutrition, and special diets, and you understand the significance of meals for health, well-being, and quality of life among the elderly.

You are a secure and present leader who creates structure, participation, and joy at work. As a person, you are solution-oriented, responsible, and have good collaboration skills. You are accustomed to working administratively and have an understanding of financial monitoring and good resource management.

If you have worked with cost calculation systems, it is an advantage.
