About the position

With us, you will support our tenants in their daily activities together with your colleagues, focusing on utilizing each individual's abilities and resources. We work in teams with nurses, occupational therapists, and unit managers. We take joint responsibility for ensuring that the work maintains good quality and that we follow the guidelines and decisions that come with the assignment. We work from a rehabilitative approach where the tenant should be stimulated and motivated to engage in their own independent activities.

Examples of tasks:

• provide personal care and service based on the tenant's individual needs
• build trusting relationships and, as a contact person, be responsible for the individual care and support process
• work from a rehabilitative approach
• collaborate with occupational therapists and nurses based on the tenant's needs
• document in our operational systems to ensure safe and quality care
• together with the rest of the workgroup, participate in developing working methods and approaches within the unit

About the workplace

Södermalmshemmet is located in central Örebro and is the largest care and nursing home in Örebro municipality with 108 places distributed across 12 groups. In each group, nine care staff work. Södermalmshemmet focuses on cognitive impairment and somatic care. Here, professional categories such as care staff, nurses, occupational therapists, unit managers, and assistants work closely with relatives and tenants. Our ambition is to provide all tenants with a safe and meaningful existence where we tailor care and support according to our tenants' individual needs.

Qualifications

As a care assistant with us, you are a reliable and stable person. You have the ability to meet tenants in a professional manner by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. Taking responsibility for your tasks is a given for you. You collaborate well with others and relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. Furthermore, you have a positive view of people with great respect for each individual's needs. In your professional role, you have the ability to understand someone else's perspective without taking over their feelings. Additionally, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You master the Swedish language to the extent that you can communicate with customers and other staff, as well as document what the operation requires. Since the work involves digital documentation in operational systems, good computer skills are required.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• proof of protected professional title, or covered by transitional regulations (permanent employed care assistant as of July 1, 2023)

Meritorious:

• documented experience of working in care and nursing
• documented experience of working with dementia care
• experience and good knowledge of the operational system Treserva
• palliative training
• Dementia ABC

Scope and start date

Employment form: permanent employment

Employment rate: 100%

Start date: as soon as possible or by agreement

Number of positions: 2-3

Working hours: scheduled day, evening, and every other weekend

Other information

As of July 1, 2023, care assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare to be employed as a care assistant. While waiting for your proof, it is possible to be employed as a care aide. However, if you had a permanent position as a care assistant on July 1, 2023, you may continue to use the title.
