We are now looking for a new colleague to our wonderful team! With us, you will work alongside your colleagues to support children and young people on the autism spectrum with intellectual disabilities. The support is tailored to the needs, wishes, and action plans of the youth. You are an important person for the young people and serve as support to offer them a safe, functioning, and meaningful everyday life.

The working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and sleeping on-call shifts, so it is a requirement to be able to work irregular hours.

This is an 80% position that starts with a 6-month probationary period.

About the workplace

Marielund LSS Tyringe is a residence with four places that accommodates children and young people aged 12-17 on the autism spectrum with an intellectual disability that falls under group 1 according to §1 LSS. The residence has one-to-one staffing, which means that the young people have access to their own staff. Job responsibilities

Your task is to support, activate, and guide children and young people in their daily lives.

You, together with your colleagues, are responsible for planning, implementation, and documentation of interventions.

As a support educator, it is your responsibility to fulfill the goals set in the action plan regarding self-determination, participation, and integrity for the individual youth.

You will perform everyday and planned support interventions based on the individual needs and wishes of the youth in accordance with LSS.

You should contribute to creating a meaningful and safe everyday life where the activities are shaped according to the youth's strengths, interests, and needs. Care work is included. A significant part of the job also involves ensuring that the young people's living environment is clean and tidy, with tasks such as laundry, cleaning, cooking, and gardening.

You need to have at least one year of work experience within LSS and have worked with individuals with autism and/or clear pedagogical methods.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. In this position, you will support young people with disabilities who show high sensitivity and therefore place high demands on your responsiveness to their needs to feel well. You should thus have a low-arousal approach and understand challenging behavior.

The work involves a great deal of freedom of action, and you must be independent and comfortable taking your own initiatives. You will participate in finding solutions together with colleagues, gladly contribute ideas, and work for good collaboration and well-being in the team. As a support educator, you are also expected to drive and develop pedagogical methods and support colleagues in their pedagogical work and disseminate knowledge about various pedagogical methods and adaptations.

Qualifications

Support educator: vocational college degree, either through a 200 YH-point vocational education with a clear focus on disabilities or a corresponding university education.

Education and/or experience in clear pedagogical methods.

Education and/or experience in low-arousal approaches.

Experience in meeting individuals with challenging behavior.

Good knowledge of LSS.

Experience in social documentation.

Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Driving license B is required.
