The individual and family care services work to provide support and assistance to children, youth, adults, and families in vulnerable situations. Our mission is to create security, promote good living conditions, and strengthen individual independence – always with the person at the center.

Within the unit, there are reception, children and youth team, foster care team, and adult team. Your role will primarily focus on the children and youth team and the foster care team and their assignments.

We are a team with extensive experience and commitment to social work and our citizens. We are now looking for our first senior social worker who can thrive with us and contribute to our work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a senior social worker, you will provide support and guidance in the daily work to social workers in the children’s team as well as to the foster care team. The main task of the senior social worker is to provide case guidance and be a support, both individually and in groups, primarily within the children and youth area. This also means being an extra guarantee that cases are updated and handled from a child perspective and within timelines.

Your responsibilities include staying updated on new research, legislation, and directives, as well as being responsible for the everyday operational work. You will be involved in creating and maintaining routines and functioning processes. In close collaboration with the unit manager and colleagues, you will follow up on the unit's goals and needs moving forward.

This is a responsible job that requires a high level of engagement and extensive knowledge of relevant laws, primarily SoL, LVU, and LBSB. Furthermore, you need to be comfortable representing the unit in committees and boards, and also in court if necessary. This naturally requires that you are good at expressing yourself both verbally and in writing.

As a senior social worker, you will:

• Lead team and individual supervision
• Act as an expert and support in daily work
• Provide emotional support and a sounding board for colleagues
• Follow court rulings, laws, and developments in the field
• Be responsible for reviewing case handling according to applicable legislation and guidelines, with the child's or young person's best interests in focus
• Read written materials and provide feedback
• Identify and drive improvement proposals
• Maintain routines in the unit and be aware of needs for updates and changes
• Represent cases before the board, administrative court, and administrative court of appeal
• Be involved in creating and maintaining a good work environment

Your assignment will be carried out in close collaboration with the unit manager, and support is also available from the municipal lawyer and administrative management. QUALIFICATIONS

The assignment requires detailed knowledge in the area and a good ability to stay updated on the changes in society and legislation. We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker and has several years of current experience in authority operations according to the Social Services Act concerning children and youth. You therefore have good knowledge of current legislation and handling of children, youth, and their families as well as child development.

High demands are placed on your administrative skills and your ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both verbally and in writing. The position of senior social worker also requires that you have a good ability to keep the child/young person in focus and to plan, prioritize, and follow up on work.

You are communicative, clear, attentive, and humble in your role, and have the ability to formulate information or messages so that everyone understands. Furthermore, you are secure and stable in yourself and in your work. You maintain calm and have the ability to keep the right focus even in pressured and complex situations. As a person, we see that you have a good ability to coach, motivate, and challenge colleagues to develop in their work. Furthermore, we also see that you easily adapt to different people and situations, and that you can meet each colleague at their level and according to their needs for support and guidance in their work. • You are a social worker
• You have several years of experience in the social services authority operations focused on children, youth, and families.
• Leadership experience is an advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of attachment, solution-focused conversation methods, and child development is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of violence and its impact on family systems is an advantage.
• You have a good ability to communicate, collaborate, meet others with respect, and implement decisions made.
• You are motivating and encouraging, contributing to a good team spirit.
• You know what it means to work in a politically governed organization, can relate to it, and understand how it affects your daily work situation.
• You have digital skills and find it easy to express yourself verbally and in writing.
