The Lindholmen Gymnasium area consists of Bräckegymnasiet, Center for Language Introduction, Ester Mosessons Gymnasium, Lindholmen Technical Gymnasium, and Polhemsgymnasiet.

Our high schools are located in the vibrant and knowledge-intensive Lindholmen.

We are looking for a school nurse for a combined position at Ester Mosessons Gymnasium and the Center for Language Introduction. The position is 100% and evenly distributed between the two units, which are within comfortable walking distance of each other.

Ester Mosessons Gymnasium is Gothenburg's leading high school in the hospitality industry – a place where the future hotel and restaurant professionals are developed. Here, students are trained to become future chefs, waiters, restaurant managers, pastry chefs, bakers, hotel staff, activity leaders, and event personnel.

The Center for Language Introduction works with newly arrived students of high school age. The students come from all over the world, with different languages and very diverse backgrounds, making the school an exciting workplace. For many of the students, school is one of their first encounters with Swedish society.

Responsibilities

As a school nurse at Ester Mosessons Gymnasium and the Center for Language Introduction, you are an important part of the student health team at your school unit, which, in addition to the principal, consists of counselors, special educators, school psychologists, and school doctors. Together, we work to create an environment that best promotes students' mental, physical, and social development, health, and learning. In your role, you implement the medical interventions of student health according to laws, regulations, and governing documents, including health talks, reception work, health examinations, documentation, vaccinations, and administration.

The work is also preventive in nature, with health talks and targeted health checks as important components. At the school, student health collaborates with educators to create a shared understanding and establish routines and methods that benefit students' learning and development. Collaboration with teachers and other staff is central.

In the education administration, there is a network led by the operational developer EMI for school nurses, which includes all school nurses and school doctors. This is a forum for continuing education, experience, and idea exchange. The medically responsible school nurse (MLA) plays an active role in your introduction at the education administration and is thereafter available as support in your daily work when you need it. As a new employee, you also have a designated colleague in the administration who provides you with organizational insight and support based on your needs and wishes during your initial time on the job.

Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse with further education as a pediatric nurse, district nurse, and/or school nurse-specific higher education. As a school nurse, you place health and learning in context. You have an interest in young people and are attentive to the needs of different students. Furthermore, you have the ability to adapt your working methods to the student and are open to developing new working methods.

As a school nurse, you work largely independently. You are comfortable making decisions within the framework of your assignment. Your working method is characterized by good structure and accuracy. You should have experience working in PMO or another equivalent administrative system.

Your contact points are many. To succeed in the role of school nurse, you need to enjoy involving and interacting with others. With a focus on the student's safety and health, you have close collaboration with the principal, colleagues in student health, and colleagues in other positions at the school. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of the role of student health in the school system. You have good administrative and digital skills.

You have the ability to take responsibility for your assignment while also seeing the organization from a holistic perspective. You are empathetic, flexible, and goal-oriented, with good judgment, high accuracy, and good collaboration skills. To succeed in the role, you work in a structured manner and can plan the organization both in the short and long term. You are confident in making decisions within the framework of your assignment and work with good structure and quality.

We are looking for a school nurse with commitment and drive to further develop the school's routines and organization within student health together with others at Ester Mosessons Gymnasium and the Center for Language Introduction.
