Registered Nurse for Dialysis Unit

The Dialysis and Kidney Failure Unit belongs to NU-sjukvården's specialist medicine clinic.

Our unit receives patients with acute and chronic kidney failure at various stages of their kidney disease and treatment. We have outpatient services for kidney failure and kidney transplant patients, as well as dialysis with a blood dialysis unit at NÄL, a blood dialysis branch in Munkedal, and a peritoneal dialysis unit.

Working with us in the blood dialysis unit
With us, nurses, doctors, nursing assistants, kitchen staff, and medical technicians work closely with the patient. Self-care and participation are central concepts in our operations. We strive for the patient to be able to perform all or part of their treatment independently. Much of your work as a nurse with us therefore consists of supporting and educating our patients in self-care, self-dialysis, and eventually home treatment. A patient-centered approach is a given with us!

With us, you will receive training for 8-10 weeks with a mentor who is an experienced nurse, after which we work with mentorship during the first year. Continuing education and skill enhancement are important, and we have regular training sessions at the unit, but you must also take responsibility for your own continuing education by deepening your knowledge through literature and web-based training, as well as by asking and discussing questions with experienced colleagues.

We offer you a varied, developing, and exciting job. One day is rarely like the other, and you work at a varied pace in close collaboration with experienced colleagues. However, there is a high demand for independent work and the ability to take overall responsibility for patients undergoing dialysis treatment. Working with us in the blood dialysis unit also means staffing the dialysis branch in Munkedal, which is why a driver's license is required.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, enjoy combining your nursing work with patient education, have a pedagogical approach, and good communication skills.

It is important that you have good collaboration skills and a positive attitude, that you are meticulous, responsible, and have a methodical and structured working style. You need to enjoy working in acute care, which means being stress-resistant and flexible as the workload and tasks vary. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
