Sanitation Worker for Summer Temporary Position

The Community Building Administration offers creative discussions, a fast-paced environment, solution-focused working methods, and gives you the opportunity to drive and participate in changing community building processes. We are a collaborative administration between Hällefors, Lindesberg, Ljusnarsberg, and Nora municipalities with a broad mandate within the municipalities' community building processes.

The administration consists of two main operational areas: technical operations, and building and environment.

The administration develops the community, and the Waste and Recycling Unit has a broad mandate including strategic waste planning, waste collection, and waste reception at our staffed recycling centers in each municipality. The focus of the operation is to work with waste prevention measures and sustainable waste management. The department currently consists of 20 dedicated and experienced employees.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a further step in the municipal packaging responsibility, we are now starting our operations to collect packaging waste from multi-family houses in our four collaborating municipalities. We are now looking for 1 sanitation worker for a summer temporary position with a C driver's license and approved YKB. You should enjoy physical outdoor work as most of the work is outside the vehicle. Since this is a service profession with a lot of customer contact, it is important that you enjoy working with people. Working hours according to schedule, Monday to Friday, but other hours may also occur.

The work should be characterized by a holistic perspective and driven in accordance with our values of trust, openness, respect, and engagement.

Main job responsibilities include:

• Collection of packaging waste with a compressing two-compartment waste truck
• Handling of vehicle computers
• Reporting deviations
• Daily maintenance/check of vehicles
• You are responsible for ensuring that your assigned routes are carried out with good quality and high service level

QUALIFICATIONS

To thrive in the role of sanitation worker, it is important that you can work in a planned and structured manner, have a sense of order, and possess a pedagogical approach with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Being able to take initiative and having good customer interaction skills are of utmost importance. You are comfortable working both independently and together with colleagues. A flexible mindset will be helpful as the work area covers half of Örebro County.

We are looking for someone who has at least a high school education and has previously worked in a service profession with customer contacts. If you have previously worked in the industry and are interested in environmental issues, as well as have experience driving heavy vehicles, we consider that an advantage for the position.

OTHER

B and C driver's licenses, as well as approved YKB and driver card, and access to a personal vehicle are required. If you have training in ADR 1:3, Crane Operator Certificate, Asbestos Basic, or operator certificate for wheel loaders C2, it is considered a plus for the position. Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing is important, and other good language skills beyond Swedish are an advantage.
