The Orthopedic Department (VO) belongs to Helsingborg Hospital and operates in both Helsingborg and Ängelholm. The focus in Helsingborg is on acute assignments, while Ängelholm is an elective production unit. Both locations have outpatient clinics and wards. In Helsingborg, there is also a rehabilitation unit that supplies the entire hospital with occupational and physiotherapists. Currently, around 280 employees work within the department.
The orthopedic clinic in Helsingborg handles both acute and elective cases. We provide outpatient services that cater to patients of all ages. We manage many different orthopedic diagnoses, including various types of fractures, osteoarthritis in different joints, and advanced wound treatments.
The clinic comprises various professionals such as nurses, nursing assistants, plaster technicians, surgical coordinators, operating room nurses/nursing assistants, as well as administrators and medical secretaries.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We welcome a plaster technician/nursing assistant to join us. With us, you will have a varied and stimulating job in a workplace with high competence and excellent collaboration around our patients. As a plaster technician/nursing assistant, you play a crucial role in the patient's visit to the clinic and subsequent treatment.
In your role, you will perform plaster and orthotic treatments during outpatient visits, as well as for patients who are hospitalized or during surgery. You will have a central role in the overall functioning of the clinic and be responsible for the plaster room.
You will closely collaborate with our doctors, physiotherapists, and pediatric rehabilitation in various treatment plans. In this role, we have a broad spectrum of responsibility for training and continuing education of our staff, including all professional categories.
Your responsibilities will also include rotation in our clinic as a nursing assistant. In this capacity, you will have your own patient visits where you perform suture removals/wound dressings and assist doctors in various tasks, such as removing plaster and sutures. Eventually, you will also be responsible for telephone advice and 1177.
As a new employee, you will receive thorough training to help you transition smoothly into your new role.
We use the systems Melior, OrtReg, and Pasis.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a trained plaster technician or nursing assistant. You should have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You need at least three years of work experience as a nursing assistant, preferably from both outpatient and ward work. Training as a plaster technician, experience as a plaster technician, or experience in orthopedic care is an advantage.
We want you to be positively inclined to work in our wards as needed during weekdays, weekends, and holiday periods, in the role of nursing assistant.
Our unit has a high turnover of patients every day, which means a fast-paced environment. Your daily routine often involves rapid changes that require adaptability. Adjusting to a new situation demands skills such as a holistic perspective, planning, and flexibility, as well as confidence in yourself. Additionally, you should be willing to take on significant responsibility. Your engagement and positive attitude contribute to a good working climate, where we all help each other and collaborate to achieve the best quality of care for our patients. You should be easy to collaborate with and have a desire for development and improvement work.
Since the role involves extensive contact with all professional categories and our patients, it is important that you have good interpersonal skills and are diplomatic in your actions. If you do not have the proof, you may be employed as a care assistant on a temporary basis, pending the proof.

Helsingborg Hospital is a versatile workplace with a pulse. Here, we provide emergency care and specialized care around the clock.
