About the position

You will be recruited to a training position as a Specialist Nursing Assistant at one of our units. You will start working at the unit in connection with the start of studies in the autumn of 2026. The purpose is for you to enter the operations already during your study period and know which placement and Specialist Nursing Assistant position awaits after graduation.

Current units:

• Smedjan short-term unit
• Björkris care and nursing home
• Bedagården care and nursing home
• Kolla care and nursing home
• Night patrol

Training arrangement:

• Full-time studies to become a Specialist Nursing Assistant in elderly care (the employer will refer to specific training)
• Working hours will be allocated at the workplace on average 1–2 days a week. The time can be allocated to day, evening, every other weekend (except for the night patrol) and used for work at the unit, staff meetings, planning, and follow-up together with the manager.

You will have a project employment as a Specialist Nursing Assistant during your study period. To ensure security, you will also have a permanent employment as a nursing assistant. The project employment as a Specialist Nursing Assistant requires that you are accepted into the training that you apply for yourself.

The program for Specialist Nursing Assistant is a further education for those who have previously studied care and nursing education; you need to have basic eligibility for higher vocational studies, i.e., a high school diploma or equivalent. You also need to have worked as a nursing assistant full-time for at least 12 months (or equivalent part-time). You will be responsible for applying for the training and providing all necessary documentation.

After completing and passing the training, you will be offered a permanent position as a Specialist Nursing Assistant at the unit where you have been placed during the training.

The role of Specialist Nursing Assistant with us

After completing the training, your role will involve working closely with care recipients and operations based on their needs. Tasks may vary depending on the unit you are assigned to. The assignment as a Specialist Nursing Assistant with us means that you will work days, evenings, and weekends (except for the night patrol).

Based on the current unit's needs, the role means that you:

• Initiate, drive, and implement quality and operational improvements
• Support colleagues and develop work methods in care and nursing work
• Assist the manager in developing the operations based on the unit's needs
• Function as a support function in areas such as dementia, palliative care, mental health, or comorbidity
• Introduce and mentor new employees and students (APL)
• Have assignments as a mentor
• Contribute to the optimal use of the unit's resources
• Collaborate both internally and externally

We are looking for someone who:

• is a qualified nursing assistant and can provide proof of a protected professional title
• has one year of experience working as a nursing assistant full-time or equivalent part-time
• has good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing

Our offer and additional information

We offer a training position/project employment full-time with placement according to agreement after presenting the admission notice. You will also be offered a permanent position as a nursing assistant for your security. Allocated working hours with salary for studies via the Elderly Care Lift (OB compensation is not covered by the Elderly Care Lift).

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected professional title. Upon employment as a nursing assistant, you will therefore need to present proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant.
