Chef to the Food Department in Mariestad Municipality

The Food Department is part of the Education Administration and is responsible for meals for preschools, schools, and elderly care throughout Mariestad Municipality. We are 57 employees who cook from scratch and work to ensure that every meal is delicious, nutritious, and contributes to a pleasant dining experience!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a chef in Mariestad Municipality, your tasks include preparing delicious and nutritious food according to the guidelines of Mariestad Municipality. Your tasks may include:

• Preparing and cooking breakfast, lunch, and snacks
• Managing special diets and texture-modified food
• Conducting self-control, cleaning, and dishwashing
• Receiving deliveries and keeping the kitchen organized
• Collaborating with colleagues and meeting guests in a service-oriented manner

The work is performed in preschools, schools, and elderly care and can be both independent and in teams depending on which workplace you are at for the day.

You will be called in as needed, often at short notice. Working hours are scheduled during daytime on weekdays.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a substitute, you will be an important part of our operation and help us maintain high quality even when regular staff are absent.

We are primarily looking for someone who is a trained chef as well as someone who:

• Has an interest in food, service, and meals.
• Is proactive, responsible, and enjoys varied work.
• Has good collaboration skills and a positive attitude.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work under high pressure.
• Has good communication skills in both spoken and written language.
• Has a B driver's license and access to a car since our kitchens are located throughout the municipality.

It is advantageous to have:

• Knowledge of food hygiene, self-control/HACCP, special diets, and texture modification.
• Experience working in a kitchen.
