Summer Substitute at Strängnäs Municipality

The staffing unit of Strängnäs Municipality is looking for substitutes for our special accommodations (nursing homes), home care services, and night patrols for the summer. Working as a substitute suits you who are attentive, driven, and enjoy meeting people. You are calm, and your approach and positive attitude make it easy for you to build good relationships with clients, relatives, and colleagues. Our clients, whether they live in special accommodations or in their own homes, need assistance in their daily lives, which may include personal care and hygiene, cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, or going outside - all based on the clients' wishes.

If you work during the summer period, you will be scheduled for a longer period at one and the same workplace.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

If you work at one of our lovely special accommodations, you will assist our clients on-site with what they need support with on a daily basis. A large part of the work is performed individually with the client, but you have colleagues on-site, and together you distribute what needs to be done during the shift.

In home care, you work with our clients in their own homes and support them with the tasks they have been approved for. During your shift, you walk, cycle, or drive between clients' homes. You usually visit the homes alone, but you are part of a work team.

Documentation is part of the job, and your working hours vary and can include days, evenings, and weekends. We are also looking for night staff for some of our units.

To be eligible for employment, you need to be able to commute to and from work even during evenings and weekends without always relying on public transport. This is particularly important if you are applying for a job at one of our accommodations outside central Strängnäs, such as Åkers Styckebruk and Mariefred.

Working as a substitute with us gives you unique experiences from different workplaces, and you will have the opportunity to make valuable contacts for the future. It is thanks to our substitutes that our operations can remain open year-round, weekdays and weekends, day and night.

Your work will include performing delegated tasks, and after a certain period of employment, it is also a requirement to take delegation to continue booking you for shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has/is:

• At least 18 years old (this is a requirement to work as a substitute with us).
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
• Familiar with using IT as support in daily tasks since some documentation and scheduling are done in our systems.

To work in home care, it is also important that you can cycle.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Education in nursing, especially if you are a certified nursing assistant.
• Previous experience working in healthcare.
• A valid driver's license and driving experience are advantageous if you want to work in home care.
• Availability to work the entire summer period, June to August.

If you work in home care, you need to be prepared for the possibility of pets in our clients' homes.

Before you start with us, you will first participate in digital training to learn more about the operations and job responsibilities. Once you have completed this, you will be assigned a workplace where you will also receive training and learn the practical work there.

We are now looking for staff who can work the entire or parts of the summer period from June to August. There may be opportunities to start working on an hourly basis already in the spring and possibly also opportunities for extension after the summer.
