Emergency Management Officer at the Capability Planning Unit

As an Emergency Management Officer at the Capability Planning Unit, you will help strengthen Sweden's civil preparedness – for real. Together with colleagues and partners, you contribute to ensuring that society functions even in times of crisis and heightened readiness. We are now looking for someone who wants to take an active responsibility in a mission of great societal importance.

We work with what everyone takes for granted. The ability to communicate. With us, you will ensure that it works now and in the future. For everyone.

The Capability Planning Unit works with long-term orientation, analysis, and coordination of the preparedness sector's capability development and exercises. This means that we plan, develop, and follow up on the capabilities required for society's electronic communication and postal services to function during disruptions, crises, and heightened readiness. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other authorities, the business sector, and international actors.

We are a committed and skilled team with a broad background in technology, analysis, political science, and preparedness. Here, we have an open and unpretentious work climate where collaboration, development, and societal benefit are in focus. You will have great opportunities to influence both direction, methods, and results.

I will be your manager, Rita Hammarstedt. As a manager, I strive for us to work as a team where we leverage each other's competencies, strengths, and interests, thus creating value for our authority, our sector, and Sweden together. I care about giving employees the space to independently drive issues within their area of responsibility. Through close dialogue and appreciation, I build a team where everyone is motivated to contribute.

About the Role

As an Emergency Management Officer, you have a central and varied role where you work closely with the unit's exercise coordinators to plan, administer, follow up, and evaluate exercises. You also participate in the planning and follow-up of training in crisis preparedness and civil defense.

Your work also includes handling and being responsible for referrals, participating in the unit's work to develop processes, and providing administrative support in ongoing projects, such as in analysis or evaluation projects. You participate in collaboration forums and working groups within PTS and together with other actors, and also drive your own activities and assignments.

The position involves broad collaboration both internally and externally. You may also be required to participate in crisis staff work.

About You

We are looking for someone who thrives in a changing environment without ready-made solutions. You work in a structured, analytical, and solution-oriented manner and can prioritize, organize, and compile information clearly and tailored to the target audience. You are collaborative, unpretentious, and easily build good relationships, while also enjoying independent responsibility. The role requires a high security awareness, good integrity, and the ability to handle complex issues with sound judgment.

Your personal qualities are important to us, and we will place great emphasis on these.

Requirements

  • Relevant academic education, for example, law, technical orientation, or experiences and qualifications that PTS assesses as equivalent
  • Knowledge of crisis management, leadership, and collaboration within crisis preparedness and civil defense, acquired through relevant work experience or academic education
  • Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English

Meritorious

  • Work experience in conducting exercises and/or training within the preparedness area
  • Work experience in coordinating and performing administrative tasks
  • Work experience in a role responsible for developing and managing processes, routines, plans, and methods
  • Knowledge of total defense law
  • Experience in leading projects or assignments

Our Offer

We take life seriously. With us, you can have a life both at and outside of work. If you feel good, we feel good. Therefore, we offer competitive salaries, flexible working hours, and the opportunity for remote work. We also have generous wellness benefits and two wellness hours every week.

In addition, you will receive favorable conditions for lunch, vacation, parental leave, pension, and in case of illness. Here, you will work in modern activity-based premises at Hälsingegatan 38. As a government agency, we offer a safe and stable work environment where you can feel secure. We are creating tomorrow's society and must stay at the forefront. With us, you will continuously grow with your tasks.

Good to Know

The position is a permanent employment with an initial probationary period of six months. Placement in Stockholm with a start as soon as possible by agreement. Your job title will be Emergency Management Officer.

The position is classified in a security class. Therefore, Swedish citizenship is required for employment.

To ensure a fair and objective assessment of your qualifications, we ask you not to include a photo, personal identification number, or address in your CV.
