About the position

In the role of construction and land engineer for stations, you will work as a technical specialist in the construction projects carried out at Svenska kraftnät. We are a client organization and build most of our stations on a total contract basis, but other forms of contracts also occur.

The Construction and Land unit is responsible for the technical aspects of the station projects, which include land, concrete structures, and control buildings.

You will primarily work on station projects from early stages to completed projects and handover to management.

The work consists of feasibility studies, locating suitable sites for building the station, procurement of land surveys, preparation of tender documents for the procurement of stations, evaluation of bids based on the requirements in the tender documents, and participation in bid reviews.

After the contractor is procured, you will work with reviewing drawings and calculations, ensuring that the contractor designing and constructing the substation follows and applies the technical requirements both during design and on-site. You will participate in construction meetings and lead technical meetings. You will also assist and participate in inspections and assessments.

In addition to project work, you will also work on the technical development of our technical guidelines, among other things.

The Construction & Land unit consists of 8-9 employed technical specialists and about the same number of consultants. The unit is part of the Primary Facilities section, which in turn is under the Department of Station Technology.

About you

We are looking for a person who can structure and efficiently organize their work to drive progress in their processes. An interest in order, planning, and precision will be key to succeeding in the role. Your creative problem-solving skills will also come into play as challenges rarely look the same from day to day.

In the role of technical specialist, you will also need to advocate for your case and convincingly speak for your and SVK's issues.

We place great emphasis on your personal competencies.

We are looking for someone with a civil or university engineering degree in Road and Water/Construction Management, or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way that the authority considers equivalent.

Other requirements for the position

• Several years of relevant experience working with earthworks or concrete structures as a designer, project manager, geotechnical engineer, construction manager, designer, contractor, or production manager.
• Proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Driver's license class B.

Desirable qualifications for the position:

• Experience with foundations/earthworks in overhead lines, substations, wind power, masts, tunnel constructions, or equivalent.
• Experience building gas-insulated substations.
• Knowledge of construction law.
• Experience in preparing descriptions for contracts.
• Experience working in construction projects.
• Experience in collaborative projects.
• Good knowledge of 2D/3D CAD, Revit, or GIS.
• Experience in dimensioning and calculations of concrete structures according to FKR – the Fortifications Agency's construction regulations.
