Personal Assistant Wanted

We are looking for two resourceful and knowledgeable men with a genuine interest in providing daily support to a young man with multiple disabilities.

You need to be patient and pedagogical to teach about music, language, and animals to someone who is curious and eager to learn more.

The disabilities require assistance with mobility, so you need to be of average height, healthy, and strong. There is a need to assist with meals, dressing, and personal hygiene. Since he loves water, daily visits to the swimming pool are included. This is why we are only seeking male assistants, so changing can take place in the men's locker room.

His curiosity means you are expected to create and conduct lessons that end with helping him write a short text in Swedish and/or English. You need to be confident in these languages both verbally and in writing. If you know another language, that is a bonus. His knowledge of music is surprisingly extensive, and it is an area where he wants to develop further. Above all, you need to communicate in a highly attentive manner. It’s not easy, but when it works, both the assistant and the user can feel satisfied with the day.

The working shifts are 8-9 hours long. Day, evening, and weekend shifts are included. No night work. Half of the shift you will work alone, and half will be double assistance with swimming. This makes the work varied, and you will get to know your nice colleagues. Every other week, there will be supervision with a psychologist.

This job is suitable for someone who wants a meaningful job where they can make a difference. It could be someone who has not yet figured out what education to pursue while upgrading their grades. Or a cultural worker, preferably a musician, who needs a basic income. Or a teaching assistant who wants to work more structured one-on-one. Perhaps someone considering studying music pedagogy?

The position starts as a part-time employment with shadowing, and can then transition to a fixed-term employment as long as the assistance assignment lasts, with a working rate of 60-70%.
