Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include supporting and guiding clients towards self-sufficiency and investigating their right to financial assistance.
By working closely with clients at every stage of their development, you ensure they receive the tools and support they need to succeed. The path to self-sufficiency looks different for each individual, and the mission is to meet the client where they are. This may involve collaboration with various partners within the social office, healthcare, and not least the actors that provide job-oriented initiatives for our target group. Examples of available initiatives include Vamos, Smedjan, Kompetenscenter, and Finsam.
Rehab 2 is one of four units within financial assistance in the administration. We work with individuals who have dependency issues and/or health problems. The unit consists of eight social workers, one social administrator, one senior social worker, and one unit manager. Additionally, the administration's labor market initiatives for the target group, Vamos and Smedjan, belong to the unit. When you start with us, you will become part of a competent, experienced, and dedicated workgroup.
To leverage each other's knowledge and provide support in everyday work, you will be offered both methodological guidance from your senior social worker and external process guidance.
The Social Administration Sydväst is the city's only co-located social office, where all authority exercises for adults are under one roof. This creates good conditions for close collaboration and an efficient working method.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in Social Work. Since the job involves a lot of documentation and communication, you need to express yourself well in both speech and writing. Experience in authority exercise, especially in financial support, and experience with the target group of individuals with dependency issues is an advantage.
To handle the role of social worker, you need to take responsibility for your own and the shared tasks with the best interest of the organization/users in focus. You take your tasks seriously, are keen to complete what you have started, and ensure that the work is done correctly.
Furthermore, you need to have the ability to create structure in your work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your tasks effectively.
It is also important that you show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You are friendly and helpful to others even in a stressful situation. You start from everyone's equal value and create a good atmosphere in meetings. You have an open and positive attitude as you base your actions on the individual's needs.
The position also requires you to have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. By being interested and creating understanding for others, you contribute to a respectful work climate. You understand the common mission, act accordingly, and contribute to the whole.

The Social Administration Sydväst is one of four social administrations in the City of Gothenburg with around 900 employees. In the urban area of Sydväst, about 120,000 residents live, and the area stretches from Billdal to Högsbohöjd and to the southern archipelago. The administration's mission is to ensure that children, youth, and adults can live a safe and independent life and that children and youth have a rich leisure time.
