Summer Temporary Positions at BmSS
Do you want to make a difference this summer and work with adults with mental disabilities living in BmSS, Housing with Special Services? We are now looking for summer temporary staff for our six psychiatric residences: Morsestigen, Berghagavägen, Grevegårdsvägen, Klåva Gårdsväg, Åkereds Skolväg, and Opaltorget.
Job Responsibilities
In our BmSS, individuals aged 18-65 live with individual and varying support needs. The target group we work with consists of individuals with complex mental disabilities as well as neuropsychiatric disabilities. They live in their own apartments close to and/or adjacent to common areas.
As a summer temporary staff member, you will support our tenants based on individual needs, aiming for a good and independent life. Together with colleagues at the residence, tasks range from care services to assistance with household chores, social support around leisure activities, and collaboration with the network surrounding the individual. The work includes social documentation and medication management according to delegation.
The goal of your work is to ensure that each tenant has a daily life with as much self-determination, participation, and quality of life as possible. You have a non-confrontational approach and a very good ability to collaborate. You will work independently as well as in a team. You need to be confident in making your own assessments, meeting, and acting appropriately in various and sometimes acute situations. In our operations, it is required that you can meet individuals with mental disabilities. Previous experience in this area is advantageous.
We work according to established implementation plans, structure around the interventions, and common approaches. You will receive support from a support pedagogue with special responsibility and the workgroup.
As a summer temporary staff member with us, you will work in two different units during your employment. Before your temporary position, you will be offered introductory training in our documentation system and prior to your medication delegation. You will also be offered two introductory days at the intended unit.
Working hours are scheduled during the day/evening and weekends. We are also looking for night staff.
Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period, and we warmly welcome your application!
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who preferably has a high school or university education in healthcare and social services, behavioral science, social work, pedagogy, or equivalent education deemed comparable by the recruiting manager. Ongoing university education focusing on social work, psychology, psychiatry, or pedagogy is considered advantageous. Experience working with mental and neuropsychiatric disabilities and knowledge of mental health is also seen as a merit.
It is desirable that you have experience and/or theoretical knowledge regarding mental health and/or substance abuse. Knowledge and experience of MI, ESL, and low-arousal approaches (LAB) are considered advantageous as these methods are central to our work.
Since interaction and conversation are a significant part of the work in psychiatry, you need to master the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. It is also part of your job to maintain documentation. Therefore, you must meet the requirement of passing grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a second language 1, or equivalent. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the test provider Educateit.
You should be available to work full-time during weeks 27-33. We also welcome those who can work hours before your summer temporary position.
If you have a driver's license, this is also seen as a merit.
