Who are we?
The Social Office in Norrköping Municipality focuses on the needs of individuals. It should be easy to get help. We maintain high quality based on legally secure assessments. We want to find solutions close to the individual and contribute to a positive change for them. Together, we create safety and good social services for those living in Norrköping.
This position will be placed within the adult services of the Social Office and will belong to what we call the adult authority. We provide assistance to adults who need support and interventions. This involves individuals who cannot manage their situation on their own due to issues such as substance abuse and dependency problems, domestic violence and honor-related violence, psychosocial ill-health combined with other issues, or other social vulnerability. It is an important mission that we carry out with great commitment and pride.
We have over 25 dedicated social workers within the adult authority. We collaborate closely in teams to enable high quality, extensive knowledge exchange, and to meet our clients and challenges in the best possible way. Our chief social workers and a unit manager provide support in the work, applying a close and trust-based leadership style.
We are currently located in nice premises, centrally in Norrköping, at Östra Promenaden 7.
Your Responsibilities
As a social worker, you will help individuals in various vulnerable life situations. You will investigate, assess, and make decisions on applications according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and decisions according to the Care of Abusers Act (LVM) in certain cases. Another important part of your work is following up on approved interventions.
In your role, you will meet people with complex and extensive issues. By harnessing the individual's own drive, you motivate change and provide support and guidance. Your focus is on the adult individual, but sometimes the entire family is affected, and you will collaborate with other services within social services.
In your pursuit of achieving the best possible results and quality in your work, you will collaborate with other authorities in society, as well as internal and external providers, and you will maintain close contact with clients and their relatives.

Who are you?
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or equivalent education with social law.
To have the right conditions to succeed in the role, we see that you have previous experience working within the social services authority, preferably with a focus on addiction care, psychiatry, comorbidity, or other social work within our target group. We would like you to be an experienced caseworker with a good understanding of SoL and coercive legislation.
As a person, you are secure and stable and drive your processes independently with a strong drive and motivation, even in more challenging moments. Furthermore, you are decisive and have courage, good judgment, and can make well-balanced decisions. You communicate the reasons for your decisions clearly and pedagogically, well adapted to those affected.
The role requires contact and collaboration with both clients and colleagues, as well as external parties, which places high demands on your ability to develop positive relationships with others. You meet individuals in various vulnerable life situations with great respect and empathy, being both attentive and professional. We also see that you contribute to collegial collaboration and share information, knowledge, and experiences.
As communication is a central part of the role, you need to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
A driving license (B) is a requirement.
