Job Responsibilities
Samsung is now looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist. This is not a typical role in an accounting department. This is a key position at the heart of one of the world's most innovative tech companies, located at the Nordic headquarters in Kista. You will work in a Nordic sales organization with a global network. You will be the link between local stakeholders in the Nordics and Samsung's Shared Service Center in Europe. This offers a complexity and an international pulse that few other companies can provide.
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the accounts payable process to ensure fast and accurate supplier accounts. You will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and local stakeholders, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and contributing to Samsung's overall financial health. You will work closely with the AP team leader on various tasks and improvement projects to meet our organizational high demands.
The role includes:
- Ensuring travel and expenses are reported according to accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Monitoring the Shared Service Center to ensure prompt and accurate invoice accounting.
- Managing corporate cards, their administration, and credit limits.
- Conducting audit and compliance checks and collaborating with the internal audit team to implement process improvements.
- Executing bank payments and related postings.
- Identifying and eliminating open items in the accounts payable ledger.
- Creating service requests for the Shared Service Center located in Europe to perform specific tasks.
- Monitoring monthly closing routines to ensure that financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Developing and improving existing workflows to increase efficiency, accuracy, and ensure compliance with our policies and processes.
- Conducting internal process and system training to enhance competence within Samsung.
Your Profile
We are looking for a "structured doer" with a couple of years of experience who is ready for the next step. You are confident in your financial foundation but also possess the technical interest and social skills required to navigate a large, multicultural organization.
Competencies:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent), preferably in accounting, finance, or similar
- 3-5 years of work experience in accounts payable
- Experience working in a global and complex marketing organization and collaborating with different cultures
- Handling large data in Excel, including functions like pivot tables, vlookup, and macros (an advantage)
- Excellent written and verbal presentation and communication skills – must be able to communicate fluently in both Swedish and English
- Ability to interact with a large number of stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- A structured and detail-oriented person
- Curious and adaptable with an analytical, solution-oriented approach
- Good understanding of AP transactions and flows
- Analyze transactions
- Follow a flow backward to identify errors
- Find the root cause of problems
- Strong analytical skills in accounts payable
- Samsung seeks a person who understands how transactions are interconnected – not just how to record them.
Personal Attributes:
- Independent
- Solution-oriented
- Responsible
- Proactive
- Team player
- Willing to take ownership and develop ways of working
Tools and Systems:
- SAP
- Excel
- Some local systems
