Senior Specialist in Logistics and Supply Chain

Do you want to contribute to Sweden's security in a socially important and expanding operation? The Swedish Armed Forces is in a strong growth phase and is now seeking a senior specialist in logistics and supply chain to the Headquarters in Stockholm. We are looking for someone with extensive experience in strategic supply management who wants to take a central role in ensuring the Armed Forces' supply and developing Sweden's capabilities within the framework of international cooperation and NATO.

Who are we?

At the Armed Forces Staff Support's new Business and Supply Management, we ensure the supply of the Armed Forces and the dimensioning of logistics as an ally in NATO at a military strategic level. Currently, we have a broad competence from both military and civilian backgrounds.

We aim to contribute to enabling our national responsibility in international cooperation and within the NATO alliance. Sweden's new role is, among other things, to be a base and transit country, and since our entry into the alliance, we have entirely new flows and volumes to manage.

In the long term, we envision that we will have a range of strategic competencies within the supply chain, where each individual conducts change management and projects for a group of supplies. Right now, we are seeking competencies for ammunition, fuel, and food.

Main Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for initiating, directing, planning, and developing strategies within the supply chain for the Armed Forces' supplies and services, both nationally and in collaboration with allies. You will lead and coordinate the work within your area of responsibility and coordinate operations with relevant actors within the Armed Forces, other authorities, industry organizations, and international partners.

The position involves broad contact areas within the entire Armed Forces and close cooperation within total defense. You will represent the Armed Forces and Sweden in international forums, primarily within NORDEFCO and NATO. Furthermore, you will participate in planning at the strategic and tactical levels and act as a subject matter expert (SME) within your area of expertise.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field
  • Several years of current work experience in a relevant area where you have worked strategically with Supply Chain Management, logistics flows, or supply flows
  • Current and relevant experience from strategic projects within supply chain management
  • Experience and ability to handle large amounts of information, both at a strategic and operational/detailed level
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English – both spoken and written

Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone who is a clear and structured communicator with experience in leading and driving projects forward. You have good habits of planning and conducting presentations for different target groups. Furthermore, you are proactive, have a strong personal drive, and work independently towards set goals.

You have a well-developed analytical ability and can translate analysis into practical implementation within strategic projects. Through your good collaboration skills, you create trusting and professional relationships with both colleagues and external actors.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience from previous work in the Armed Forces, defense industry, or total defense
  • Experience with SCOR
  • Competence within NATO's AJP framework – especially AJP 4
  • Academic degree in a relevant field
