Short-Term Unit
The Short-Term Unit in Visby is a central operation that offers temporary care and support for individuals needing rehabilitation, respite care, or assistance while waiting for alternative housing.
Here, care recipients with different needs come together, creating a dynamic and developing work environment. The unit has newly renovated facilities that contribute to a modern, functional, and pleasant care environment.
At the unit, a dedicated and competent team works closely together across professions. There are a total of six nurses, and during each shift, the nurse is responsible for a department with ten places. The role includes leading the care work and mentoring and supporting the nursing staff in their daily work with the users. You work in close collaboration with nursing assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and other professional roles. In addition to the local assignment, you will be part of Region Gotland's overarching nursing team, consisting of about 24 nurses, where you regularly meet for collegial support, experience exchange, and joint development.
We are now looking for a registered nurse who wants to contribute to the continued development of the operation with a focus on quality, guidance, and professional development in daily work.
Your Responsibilities
As a nurse, you will among other things:
- Be responsible for and coordinate the daily care work in the operation together with the unit manager.
- Lead, mentor, and support the nursing staff in their daily work.
- Perform standard patient-related tasks such as examinations, assessments, information, and advice.
- Collaborate with doctors, relatives, and external healthcare providers, and participate in care planning and discharge processes.
- Participate in development work together with the unit manager, rehabilitation staff, and nursing staff.
- Work with quality assurance through national quality registers.
- Lead and follow up the operation based on set goals and financial frameworks.
- Participate in nursing meetings within Region Gotland for collegial support, experience exchange, and joint development.
- Work as needed in other operations within Region Gotland to broaden experience, learn new working methods, and contribute to personal development.
Who Are You?
We are looking for you who are a registered nurse and have a B driver's license and access to your own car.
It is an advantage if you have experience working in hospital care, for example in acute geriatrics, stroke, infection, or surgery. Specialist training focusing on elderly care is considered a benefit. Experience working with quality registers such as Senior Alert, the Swedish Palliative Register, and the BPSD register is also meritorious.
We are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role and can work independently while valuing good collaboration. You are goal- and result-oriented, work in a structured manner, and have a development-oriented approach that contributes to quality and improvement work.
You communicate clearly and attentively with colleagues, patients, and relatives and have a holistic view that allows you to prioritize and make well-founded decisions in daily work.
We place great importance on the personal competencies described above.
In accordance with the new language requirement, you need to have a good command of Swedish in both spoken and written forms to ensure safe care and proper documentation.
