About the Company

Svenska kraftnät is the system responsible authority and a state-owned enterprise tasked with ensuring a reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective power system in Sweden. They manage and develop the electricity transmission network and work to meet society's increasing needs for electrification and energy supply.

Their vision is to enable the continued electrification of Sweden and create conditions for a sustainable, competitive, and secure electricity supply.

Svenska kraftnät's headquarters is located in Sundbyberg, but we also have operations in Gothenburg, Västerås, Sundsvall, Luleå, and Sollefteå.

About the Role

Svenska kraftnät is in a development phase where work around data has become increasingly critical to operations. We operate in a federated model with information domains with the roles of information domain owners and data stewards. Our central Data Office is small but has a broad mandate to support the organization with data governance, data quality, working methods, cross-functional data orientation, and the implementation of data-related tools.

To accelerate this work, we are looking for an experienced consultant with the ability to quickly establish structure, drive cross-functional initiatives, and create momentum in a complex environment. You will contribute to establishing our data and information governance and further develop the organization's master data management, metadata work, data catalog, and participate in the digitization/automation of data-related processes. The consultant will work closely with the Data Governance Lead and together with others in the data office team support the organization's information domains.

The assignment requires a person who is accustomed to working in complex organizations, can coordinate and drive results, and has a good ability to lead workshops, create consensus, and drive change. You have a technical understanding and know the opportunities that a modern data capability entails, in order to support the organization with requirements and coordination towards technical staff and/or suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Support the organization in clarifying data lineage and documenting and deciding on master data and master data sources.
  • Establish and improve working methods for metadata, including processes, responsibilities, and standards.
  • Lead feasibility studies, requirements definition, and procurement/introduction of data catalogs and potentially other relevant tool support.
  • Contribute to frameworks and guidelines for data products, and if necessary, support a pilot implementation together with selected domains.
  • Contribute to deliveries to our data strategy, such as current state analysis of technical and operational data capabilities, identification of needs and priorities, and development of a concrete path to becoming a data-driven organization.
  • Take responsibility for specific quarterly goals within the data office and ensure that we meet them by defining the desired effect, developing a plan, and ensuring progress by facilitating workshops and cross-functional activities.
  • Collaborate particularly with information architects, the organization's information domains including data stewards, as well as the data platform team and analytics team.
  • Contribute to a higher degree of automation and digitization within data management together with IT and the organization, aiming to reduce manual work, become more data-driven, and enhance data quality.

Competence Requirements

  • At least 5 years of work experience in the last 10 years working in data and information management, in roles such as data or information specialist, data manager, data steward, data governance, data architect, data domain lead, or equivalent role.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in the last 5 years developing, working with, and implementing data and information governance (Data Governance) based on established frameworks such as DAMA (The Global Data Management Community).
  • At least 1 year of work experience in the last 5 years driving improvement work for master data.
  • At least 1 year of work experience in the last 5 years defining data products. By "data product" we mean structured and documented data delivery, dataset, or data service with defined ownership, quality, metadata, and intended consumer.
  • You must be able to speak and write Swedish and English fluently.

Value-Added Requirements:
