Junior IT Technician at the Swedish Armed Forces

Do you want to take the first step in your career and be part of something bigger, valuing the opportunity to contribute to a safer and better society with who you are and what you do?

The Swedish Armed Forces is now looking for a junior IT technician for the FMTIS Command Support Unit (LSE) Implementation Department in Stockholm. LSE supports the Headquarters and the Swedish Armed Forces' addresses in Stockholm regarding the operation and maintenance of command and operational systems at all levels of readiness, both nationally and internationally. Our mission is unique and places high demands on quality, security, and integrity. In addition to fulfilling current tasks, we must also prepare to meet future requirements. We hope you share our ambitions and want to become one of us.

Main Responsibilities

We work in a developing environment characterized by a service-oriented work style with ambition, technical competence, and opportunities for personal development. We are looking for someone who enjoys new challenges and, with a strong sense of responsibility, drives their own work forward with a solution-oriented approach. The operations we support are changing, and our delivery must meet these needs.

Your main responsibilities include providing office support and user support to the operations through preventive and corrective maintenance work, as well as commissioning IT equipment. This includes case management, turnover and installation of clients and other end equipment, as well as managing workplaces (setting up, moving, decommissioning). Most of the work takes place on-site with end users, so it is beneficial if you are accustomed to working closely with operations.

The work is varied and is mainly performed at the Swedish Armed Forces' premises and facilities in Stockholm.

We Offer You

The Swedish Armed Forces has a strong value base built on openness, results, and responsibility, encompassing both professional development and personal health. The operations offer great variation and complexity, which means good development opportunities and conditions for internal career mobility. In addition to learning our internal systems and processes, we place great emphasis on security training.

We have several different benefits, including:

  • Competence development based on the needs of the operations and your individual career goals
  • Three hours of training per week during working hours, as well as reimbursement for training clothes and entry fees
  • Good balance between work and leisure with flexible working hours and 28 - 35 vacation days depending on age
  • Salary supplements during parental leave and VAB, as well as the opportunity to exchange salary and vacation days for additional pension contributions

Qualifications

  • High school education with a focus on data, IT, customer support, or equivalent knowledge that can be assessed as comparable
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
  • Driving license B
  • Swedish citizenship

Meritorious

  • Similar role as an IT technician and/or support technician, preferably on-site
  • Experience in 1st-line support

We are convinced that a diverse group of different ages and backgrounds creates a strong and robust team and a dynamic and healthy work environment.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is at the beginning of their career as this is an entry-level role. If you have just graduated or are about to graduate from high school and are the go-to person for IT questions, you will fit in well with us. You are a good team player while also taking initiative and responsibility. You are service-oriented, proactive, and have good planning skills.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
