Job Advertisement: Simulator Technician

The Simulator Section is part of the Training Unit at Livgardet. As a simulator technician, you primarily work with simulators for training in shooting with various weapon systems, from small arms to armored vehicles, as well as with follow-up on combat exercises and tactical games supported by computers. The tasks include preventive and corrective maintenance as well as some modifications according to established guidelines. You support simulator officers during training and participate in the development and commissioning of new simulator equipment. Simulator technology is continuously evolving, making the work feel both dynamic and engaging. The position is varied, and tasks are carried out both indoors in a workshop and outdoors in the field.
Main Responsibilities
The main task is to be responsible for the retrieval and return of both soldier-carried and vehicle-mounted systems and to conduct training on these. You ensure the availability and functionality of materials and plan and conduct training, troubleshooting, simpler repairs, and administrative work related to simulator services together with colleagues.
The work may take place under field conditions, day and night, which requires good physical ability, including heavy lifting and work on high combat vehicles. Physical training is included in the service with three hours per week.
Qualifications
- Driver's license B (manual)
- Experience in technical practical work
- Good proficiency in the Office suite
- Good administrative skills

You find it easy to work in a team and see yourself as a clear team player. You work in a structured manner and are used to working under stress. You are flexible in your way of working, and it comes naturally to you to maintain order and tidiness.

Meritorious
- Military background, conscription/GMU and GSS
- Pedagogical ability
- Driver's license C
- Forklift certificate B1-B4
- Experience working in the Armed Forces' support systems
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing
- Multilingualism, at least English
- Military driving licenses

Employment type: Permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority. Employment rate: Full-time. Work location: Kungsängen. Position: Civil. Start date is after the summer.
