Field Assistant to Enskede-Årsta-Vantör

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Do you want to work closely with young people and their parents/caregivers, building trust and a safer everyday life? We are now seeking two field assistants for permanent employment who want to be part of our preventive work.

Welcome to us

Enskede-Årsta-Vantör is sometimes called "Little Stockholm", where different areas and cultures meet, making the work both varied and meaningful. With us, you will have the opportunity to influence how fieldwork is designed and developed. We work preventively and promote the well-being of children, young people, and families, collaborating with everything from schools and youth centers to the police and social services.

You will be part of our field operations, which is part of the outreach and early support unit. We operate from Gullmarsplan and work throughout the district.

We offer you

With us, you will have an important and developing job with engaged colleagues. You will receive wellness grants and an SL card with tax benefits, as well as good opportunities for professional development.

Your role

As a field assistant, you will meet young people aged 13-17 and their parents or other important adults, both in places with adult presence such as schools and youth centers, and where adults are absent, such as on streets and squares. You will work proactively, build relationships, and prevent risks related to substance abuse, crime, and mental health issues. You will be part of a team of nine field assistants, all working across the district.

The position also includes:

  • Contacting parents and sometimes leading meetings or gatherings.
  • Collaborating with other actors, such as the police, schools, community organizations, and social services.
  • Sharing knowledge about youth trends and current situations with partners or parents.
  • Contributing to a more equitable, equal, and inclusive outreach work.

As a person, you are secure, mature, and self-driven with the ability to create structure in outreach fieldwork. In the job, you need to be flexible and adapt to changing situations based on the municipal assignment. You enjoy collaborating and building relationships. We see that you are calm and stable even in pressured situations and thrive working in a team.

Other

You will work on a schedule, and the working hours are scheduled during day and evening hours on weekdays each week, with at least one evening a week until 10:00 PM. Evening work (Friday and Saturday from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM) occurs at least every fourth week. The schedule may change based on the season and arising needs in the operation.
