Your Mission

The mission of student health is to support students' development towards the goals of education primarily through health-promoting and preventive work.

As a school nurse, you contribute medical expertise as support in the work with students' learning. You follow AcadeMedia's guidelines for the medical efforts of student health and participate in the school's student health work by:

• early identifying symptoms in students during health conversations that may indicate the need for extra adjustments or other interventions
• collaborating with others to increase knowledge about a healthy lifestyle among students and being a support in teaching related to this
• providing knowledge about risk and protective factors for students' health, social situation, and learning
• offering time for spontaneous visits where simpler healthcare interventions are provided
• offering vaccinations according to the general vaccination program for children

In addition, it is advantageous if you have experience working with attendance-promoting efforts in high school.

As a school nurse, you are part of the school's student health team and have close collaboration with school management, EHT, educators, guardians, and authorities outside the school. The assignment also includes participating in the school's development work as well as in the joint development and quality assurance work within medical student health.

The work requires that you are secure in your professional role, can work independently, are resourceful, and have a good ability to see opportunities in different situations. As support in your work, you are part of AcadeMedia's network for school nurses led by the medical operations manager.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialized training as a pediatric nurse, district nurse, or school nurse. You are interested in working with preventive health work and further developing a modern school nurse role. You have a good approach, can build trust with young people, have a good ability to plan and prioritize while being flexible in situations that require it. If you have previously worked as a school nurse or have experience in health-promoting work with children and youth, we see this as very positive. Experience with the digital journal system ProRenata is advantageous. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
