The Specialist Psychiatry in Kronoberg provides modern and specialized psychiatric care in collaboration with relatives and other healthcare providers. The operations are organized into specialized units where employees work in integrated teams, outpatient care, and inpatient care that follows the patient throughout the care chain.

The unit for acute psychiatric departments for children, youth, and adults consists of two separate departments, one for adults and one for children. We are now looking for a nurse for the adult acute psychiatric department. The department's mission is to provide short-term care for patients with specific care needs as well as inpatient care for patients with dependency issues. The department cares for patients who have been assessed to need inpatient psychiatric care according to HSL or LPT. We have a dynamic flow of patients and a mix of psychiatric and somatic emergency care.

We offer training/lectures in TERMA (therapeutic response to aggression), MI (motivational interviewing), proACT (acute medical training), ongoing lectures in current areas, and the opportunity for specialist training in psychiatry. If you have clinical experience as a nurse for at least 1 year, you will have the opportunity to apply for paid further education to become a specialist nurse in psychiatric care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The work in the adult acute psychiatric department is exciting and varied, where you collaborate a lot with different professions, with various units within the clinic, and with other partners in the region.

In the adult acute psychiatric department, we work with a clear patient focus and case management. As a nurse, you are part of a team and you are the one who leads the care team around the patient. In the daily work on the department, you are responsible for medication administration, rounds, sample collections, contact with relatives, and collaboration with other care providers. Our high staffing allows you to work closely with the patients and provides a unique opportunity to develop and become secure in your leadership role. You work together with caregivers, nursing assistants, social workers, and doctors. The adult acute psychiatric department has close cooperation with the acute psychiatric reception.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. It is an advantage if you have specialist training in psychiatry or experience working in psychiatry. As a nurse in the adult acute psychiatric department, you need to have a good ability to prioritize between tasks and enjoy when the unexpected happens. We want you to have good collaboration skills, be able to make decisions easily, and have a good empathetic ability. It is important that you have confidence in your profession and are used to working independently and can make your own assessments.
