Nursing Assistant for the Oncology Clinic

The Oncology Clinic and Day Care at Gävle Hospital is part of a regional mission that includes advanced medical treatment for cancer patients in Gästrikland, Hälsingland, and northern Uppland. We offer, among other things, chemotherapy, antibody treatment, hormonal treatment, and blood transfusions. We are part of the oncology business area, which also includes radiation therapy, inpatient care, and a palliative team. Research is a central part of our work, and we have a clinical trial unit that allows patients to access the latest treatments while contributing to the development of future care.

We are now looking for a nursing assistant for a 6-month temporary position with the possibility of extension. Come and make a difference with us!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nursing assistant with us, you contribute to a good care experience by providing support in the daily care of patients. This means ensuring that patients feel safe, seen, and well cared for during their stay with us, as well as helping to maintain a pleasant and well-functioning environment. You work closely with other healthcare staff and have a service-oriented approach focused on the patient's needs and well-being.

Main Responsibilities

• patient care
• dressing changes
• checks as prescribed
• sample collection and EKG
• assist with the insertion of PICC lines.
