Temporary Nurse/Diabetes Nurse at the Diabetes Clinic in Gävle

The Endocrine Clinic Gävle is part of the internal medicine department and consists of diabetes nurse clinics in Gävle and Sandviken. The unit also includes an endocrine clinic, foot care clinic, and a clinic for bone density measurements. At the diabetes clinic, diabetes nurses work together with foot care specialists and specialist doctors. Our mission includes developing new working methods, innovative use of medical technology and e-health solutions, high patient involvement, and collaboration with various healthcare providers, patient associations, and the business community.

In connection with parental leave, we are looking for a temporary nurse/diabetes nurse for our diabetes clinic. The unit may have retirements in a few years, so this could be a great opportunity for you to develop in the field and see if this is the right place for you. The temporary position includes a 20 percent rotation to the care department at Gävle Hospital. We will agree on which department it concerns based on your experiences and knowledge. The placement location is Gävle or Sandviken, which we will also agree on together based on your competencies and experiences and where we see it will work best.

The working hours at the clinic are daytime with a weekly working time of 40 hours/week. The care department includes weekend and evening shifts. This may involve one shift/week or four shifts/month.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The diabetes clinic is tasked with providing care primarily to people with type 1 diabetes and gestational diabetes; we also provide consultative support to primary care regarding people with type 2 diabetes. About a quarter of our patients use insulin pumps, and most of our patients have continuous blood glucose monitoring, so an interest in technology and technical development is important to us.

You are flexible, unpretentious, helpful, and can step in where needed. Your ability to collaborate with your colleagues is very good while you also work independently and drive the business forward. You enjoy providing good service and have a positive attitude towards both colleagues and patients. You are curious, enjoy learning new things, and contribute to a good atmosphere at the clinic. In the role of nurse/diabetes nurse, you should:

• be a licensed nurse
• have at least a couple of years of experience working as a nurse
• have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• hold a valid B driver's license.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have training in the field of diabetes.
