ABOUT Västra Djursjukhuset We are an established and personal animal hospital with many years of combined expertise in the house. We have staffing around the clock and reception between 8 AM and 8 PM. In addition to a large influx of referrals, we have a well-functioning emergency department and outpatient clinic with special focus (eye, skin, dental, diabetes, gastro, cat, heart, lameness clinics).

Our care department is separated for cats and dogs as well as an ICU department. In our well-equipped surgical department, we perform virtually all types of procedures within soft tissue surgery and orthopedics. The animal hospital possesses a CT scanner, digital X-ray, and several ultrasounds (abdominal and cardiac).

About the Job

As our new chief veterinarian, you will play a key role in leading and securing the veterinary medical development within our operations in close collaboration with the operations manager. Your main task is to lead, ensure, and develop our care quality. You are responsible for maintaining current routines and treatment plans. This role is combined with clinical work.

In more detail, you will work with:

  • Following developments in veterinary medicine and developing and monitoring a veterinary medical plan and strategy for our operations.

  • Implementing new findings and routines in consultation with our veterinarians according to the plan and strategy.

  • Joining the management team and actively participating in operational development and budget work. Reporting to the operations manager.

  • Participating in AniCura Sweden's Chief Veterinarian Group and collaborating to drive the operational and strategic mission of the business and develop AniCura's clinical work.

  • Continuously working to improve medical quality and patient safety using AniCura's quality tools.

  • Planning professional development for the veterinary group together with veterinary managers.

  • Planning professional development for other clinical staff in collaboration with the head of each profession.

  • Providing medical support in issues arising within the operations.

  • Handling medical complaints and assisting in other complaint matters.

  • Supporting employees in responsibility matters.

  • Being responsible for veterinary medical knowledge exchange in the form of rounds and discussions.

  • Being responsible for contacts and handling with authorities.

  • Being responsible for the operation's radiation safety according to the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority's regulations.

  • master Swedish and English in speech and writing.

You describe yourself as curious, with good communication skills and a big heart for companion animals. For you, it is important that the animal's best always comes first, and you have the ambition to offer the highest possible quality of veterinary care.
