Specialist in Medical Technology Operations

About the position
The Medical Technology (MT) business area is responsible for ensuring that Karolinska University Hospital's healthcare operations have access to safe and appropriate medical technology equipment for world-class care, today and tomorrow. MT is responsible for service, maintenance, and management of the hospital's equipment and actively participates in planning future investments.
Through close collaboration with healthcare, we contribute to development and innovation within specialized and highly specialized healthcare as well as increased use of new technology. MT is part of the central staff of Technology and consists of approximately 115 employees distributed across four equipment-oriented units and one unit for project management and business development.
MT Operations is responsible for advanced technical solutions used in the hospital's operating departments as well as in other parts of the organization, such as integration solutions, surgical robots, operating tables, endoscopy, and media bridges. The unit's mission is to ensure effective, safe, and appropriate management of medical technology equipment throughout its lifecycle.
In this role, you will start from the healthcare's needs for medical technology and initiate and participate in procurements. You will contribute to strategies for how equipment is provided to healthcare and be responsible for ensuring maintenance, high availability, and long-term lifecycle management of the medical technology equipment.
The position also includes participation in renovation and relocation projects as well as close collaboration with suppliers, where contract management and supplier relationships are an important part of the assignment. You will be responsible for one or more equipment groups and plan and follow up on the daily work together with the management leader for MT Operations, to whom you will report in this role. Personnel-related matters, such as salary and leave, are handled by the unit manager.
The operations are mainly located at Karolinska in Huddinge and Solna.

To keep up with the changes occurring in healthcare, it is of utmost importance that you have a positive attitude towards change and transition.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Academic education in technology, healthcare, or another relevant field
- Experience working with medical technology hardware or software
- Experience in project management or another coordinating role
- Very good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Desirable:
- Experience in clinical work
- Experience working with medical technology equipment or medical technology software.
- Experience working with/leading IT installations
- Experience working with hospital-wide systems
- Experience in managing MT equipment
- Experience in financial follow-up and planning
- Experience negotiating with suppliers
- Experience working closely with healthcare operations.
