We are looking for nurses for night work in round-the-clock care
We are looking for nurses for night work in round-the-clock care for departments 91, 93, 95, and 97. With us, the night is characterized by close collaboration, stable staffing, and an active safety focus. Night work involves great variation – you will meet patients with different backgrounds and diagnoses and handle both acute situations and long-term care processes.
Job Responsibilities
As a nurse with us, you have a central and varied role in both psychiatric and somatic care, where your medical knowledge is used in symptom interpretation, risk assessment, and medication management. As time and opportunity allow, you participate in nursing work, while the nurse's responsibilities always take the highest priority.
The entire psychiatry department is gathered under one roof, creating close collaboration and good opportunities for support even during night shifts. Every night, 13 caregivers and 4 nurses work in round-the-clock care, providing stable staffing and a strong collegial context. The organization has a clear focus on safety and continuous improvement. Joint night meetings contribute to shared understanding and experience exchange. To enable competence development for all, training is sometimes scheduled in the evening so that night staff can also participate.
What is the best part of working nights?
“You get a completely different closeness to the patients at night. The pace is calmer and there is more time to really see each individual. The team at night also becomes very tight – we help each other and trust each other in a way that is hard to describe.” - Eva
About the Workplace
The psychiatric round-the-clock care (HDV) is an organization that is constantly moving forward. We actively work on improvement based on the needs of the organization. We feel that we are making a difference for our patients and have the privilege of getting to know them. The work climate is open and permissive, we can be who we are and we help each other. We have good cohesion in the staff groups, both in our own work group and in round-the-clock care as a whole.
Region Västmanland's psychiatric round-the-clock care includes five departments with different diagnostic focuses and a psychiatric emergency department.
- Department 91: A general psychiatric department focusing on addiction issues. Here you work if you enjoy having varied tasks with a high pace and a lot of patient contact.
- Department 93: Psychiatric intensive care unit. Here you work if you appreciate variation in both pace, tasks, and want to work in a team. Here you can closely participate in the patients' improvement process.
- Department 95: General psychiatric department. The focus is broad, and you work with mental illness and health issues throughout adult life. The department suits you if you want to combine somatic and psychiatric care.
- Department 96: Psychosis department. Primarily cares for patients with psychotic disorders, but also deals with addiction issues and neuropsychiatric diagnoses. If you are interested in having long-term patient relationships and working regularly, department 96 is the right place for you.
- Department 97: A general psychiatric care department. Primarily cares for young adults with various psychiatric diagnoses. We have a close collaboration with the Eating Disorders Unit. Here you work if you enjoy person-centered care and where the caring conversation is a large part of your work.
- Psychiatric Emergency Department: The psychiatric emergency department has a network with, among others, ambulance services, police, Mobile Family Doctor Unit, rescue services, and social services, as well as good collaboration with the psychiatric departments and outpatient care. You will thrive here if you enjoy teamwork and that no day is like the other.
For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your job, therefore we offer you:
