Job Responsibilities

As a specialist physician in Clinical Pathology, you will primarily have significant medical responsibilities where you will drive the development within the laboratory with the help of colleagues and support them in their work and continued professional development. You will also participate in the usual tasks within clinical pathology such as dissection, diagnostics of samples, MDK, and if qualified, also in cytology. You will report to the medical management responsible physician.

Clinical Pathology within Laboratory Medicine Västmanland is responsible for morphological diagnostics within the Västmanland Region. We are eight senior physicians, one specialist, and four residents. The work is divided into subspecialties but has one main area of responsibility and two to three smaller areas where you support your colleagues.

We have good opportunities for professional development, development work, and the possibility of clinical research in collaboration with the Center for Clinical Research (CKF).

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed physician with specialist training in Clinical Pathology. Experience working as a specialist physician is an advantage.

You are a secure, stable person with good self-awareness. You collaborate and communicate well with others. In the role of a physician, you lead and guide in a respectful, attentive, and positive manner. The role requires you to have the courage to act on your own convictions, see opportunities in changes, and have a good ability to drive your work independently.

A prerequisite for the position is that you can communicate and be understood in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
