Department of Medical Sciences

The Department of Medical Sciences is a large clinical institution with approximately 250 employees and over 900 affiliated individuals, including those connected to the Academic Hospital.

The department has a broad research profile with strong research groups in various fields. Research is conducted in close connection with the clinical activities at the Academic Hospital and includes both basic studies on disease causes and the development and evaluation of improved diagnostics and new treatment methods. Project Manager in Clinical Diabetology and Metabolism

The department is now seeking a project manager in the research area of Clinical Diabetology and Metabolism. The position is located at the Academic Hospital in Uppsala.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate work in research studies for research nurses, physicians, and laboratory researchers within the Clinical Diabetology and Metabolism research group. This includes clinical and translational projects related to diabetes, obesity, and metabolism. Coordination and administrative management of several national clinical research projects evaluating the effects of medications and lifestyle. Additionally, local leadership and coordination of research projects involving both patients and healthy volunteers, as well as our cell and tissue laboratory.

Qualifications

Licensed nurse. Experience in project coordination and leadership. Excellent language skills in Swedish and English.

We are looking for an energetic person who wants to lead teams and coordinate research networks. You are independent, responsible, flexible, and results-oriented. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Desirable/meritorious qualifications

Further education as a specialist nurse in relevant areas for the position. Experience in clinical work within diabetes and metabolism. Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration. Experience in development or research projects within clinical medicine/nursing science.

About the position

The position is a fixed-term contract for 12 months, with a possibility of extension. The scope is full-time. Start date is 2025-04-15 or by agreement. Location: Uppsala.
