Palliative care and advanced home healthcare (ASIH) in southwestern Skåne is organizationally part of the management Near Care and Health, operational area mobile teams and specialized palliative care southwestern Skåne. We offer specialized palliative care aimed at alleviating symptoms and preventing suffering in connection with incurable or chronic illness regardless of the person's age or diagnosis. Care can be provided as inpatient care in the department, within advanced home healthcare (ASIH), or via palliative specialist outpatient clinics. The care is specialized according to each individual patient's needs.

The operation in Trelleborg consists of teams with nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, physiotherapists, dietitians, doctors, and medical secretaries. We are constantly working to develop and strengthen teamwork to create an attractive workplace. Each employee contributes with their specific competencies where our joint efforts make a significant difference for patients and relatives. ASIH, the Palliative Care Department, and the specialist outpatient clinic work closely together. ASIH has 17 places within our catchment area of Trelleborg, Svedala, and Vellinge municipalities, and the department has 6 inpatient care places in Trelleborg. The position involves working with our patients both in ASIH, in the department, and at the specialist outpatient clinic.

As an occupational therapist, you will also be part of a well-functioning Skåne-wide network within Palliative care and ASIH in Skåne with regular meetings, both on-site and digitally.

Working within specialized palliative care in Trelleborg means working person-centered and contributing to creating security in difficult life situations for all our patients. You meet the patient, listen in, and work based on the conditions that exist and with the patient's goals in focus.

The occupational therapist's responsibilities include assessing functional and activity abilities but primarily focusing on enabling and facilitating activities that are meaningful and enhance the quality of life for our patients. Collaboration regarding assistive device needs occurs with the municipality's prescribers.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed occupational therapist with the authority to operate within Swedish healthcare and have a valid B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are a requirement. If you have experience working with severely ill patients, this is an advantage. Since both our journal system and our planning tool are digital, it is important that you are comfortable using a computer. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have previous experience in palliative care/ASIH or have encountered severely ill individuals in your professional role.
