Field Coordinator at the Environmental Analysis Unit
The Environmental Analysis Unit runs several projects focusing on measures in water and wetlands, often in collaboration with both regional actors and other countries, and operates in international cooperation forums within the Arctic region.
Currently, approved projects are being implemented at the unit, ranging from individual measures to large multinational projects lasting 3–7 years, co-financed by the EU.
About the Position
As a field coordinator, you will support team leaders in wetland restoration. Your primary task is to ensure that the restoration is carried out according to instructions and that contracts, permits, and exemptions are followed.
In this role, you will work flexibly between team leaders, both by making site visits and over the phone. The job also involves planning how you spend your days in the field. You will also be responsible for surveying new objects for upcoming restorations.
This is a seasonal position, tentatively running from mid-May to September, with the possibility of extension. The workplace will be either at home or at our office in Luleå.
The work is constantly evolving, and based on our mission, tasks may change over time. Therefore, you need to be able to handle changes.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- relevant scientific academic education,
- experience in water management work,
- experience as a team leader in restoration projects,
- good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written,
- chainsaw certification,
- driver's license (B).
As a person, you are used to working independently, taking initiative, and identifying necessary processes/steps in your work. You will be working with people in challenging situations in the field, so it is beneficial if you have good interpersonal skills and can easily build positive relationships.
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- experience driving ATVs and iron horses.
We will place great emphasis on personal qualities, and we see it as essential that you contribute positively to our work environment and job satisfaction and act according to the government values (https://www.statskontoret.se/kunskapsstod-och-regler/god-forvaltningskultur/den-statliga-vardegrunden/).
