Do you want a role where structure meets societal impact?

As a Carbon Permit Coordinator, you will ensure that LKAB meets the requirements of the EU Emissions Trading System and develop how we work with carbon reporting. Here, you will take clear responsibility, drive improvements, and contribute to the industry's transition towards a more sustainable future.

The most important jobs of the future

We want to lead the transition of our industry towards a sustainable future. Just as we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone who is with us on the journey, personally and professionally. Do you want to help shape the future of the world's mining and mineral industry?

Your role

You will belong to the Department of Management Systems and Monitoring, which is responsible for developing and managing processes and methods for operational governance, monitoring, and reporting.

In this role, you will lead a structured and methodical effort based on our fuel and material consumption with carbon content, aiming to calculate and report CO₂ emissions according to applicable regulations. You will help ensure the correct handling of fuels and materials, quality-assured data flows through our systems, and that emission reports are traceable, reliable, and well documented. The work also includes ensuring that requirements for measuring equipment, calibration procedures, and technical documentation are in place and up to date.

You are responsible for ensuring that the Iron Ore business area has complete and appropriate reporting of carbon emissions. This includes working with monitoring plans, collecting and compiling activity and analysis data, and driving improvement work related to carbon reporting.

A central part of the role is to lead the work with the company's carbon permits according to the EU ETS. This involves managing permits, annual emissions reporting to authorities, applying for allocation of emission allowances, and administering the handling of these. Through this work, you directly contribute to ensuring the company's continued ability to operate.

In addition to ensuring compliance, you drive the development of our working methods within carbon reporting. The ambition is to move from regulatory compliance to a more proactive and improvement-driven approach. In practice, this means that you both manage established processes and challenge them, focusing on efficiency, quality, and robustness over time.

You will monitor legal requirements, act as a contact person for relevant authorities, and ensure that operations align with current regulations.

You bring with you

You are a collaborative person who builds trust and relationships across the organization. The role requires you to engage employees from different functions in joint initiatives – therefore, your ability to create dialogue, explain purpose, and get others on board is crucial. You are proactive and take responsibility for identifying needs, obstacles, and areas for improvement, and you thrive in an environment where you need to drive issues independently.

The work is characterized by legal requirements and recurring processes, which means you have a strong sense of structure and order. You work methodically, can set systems and routines in place – and even more importantly, you can implement them in the organization. At the same time, you are solution-oriented and used to handling complex situations where solutions are not yet defined.

In this role, you will have many points of contact, and therefore your communication skills are central. You can explain the significance of the work in a clear and engaging way, adapt the message to the audience, and contribute to the organization understanding why quality-assured data, compliance, and structure are such important pieces of the puzzle.

Formal requirements
