AFRY has Nordic roots with a global reach. Our shared principles – Result driven, Client centric, Empowering, and Accountable – guide us in how we work, develop, and succeed together. Join us in accelerating the transition to a sustainable society.

Job Description

AFRY provides qualified consulting services in environment, sustainability, and contaminated areas. Currently, there are several sections within AFRY that work with notification and permit matters, water and air investigations, environmental impact assessments, environmental investigations, environmental technical soil surveys, environmental controls, risk assessments, sustainability, audits, environmental management, and quality management. Our clients are found in both the private and public sectors.

As an experienced environmental consultant, your assignments may vary and involve everything from wind power, solar power, industries, and various water activities to infrastructure projects in railways and roads, as well as environmental assessments in planning matters. You will have the opportunity to participate in various assignments locally, regionally, and nationally. We allow you to take significant responsibility, and you are welcome to take on the project manager role, have client contacts, and, if interested, work on international assignments. If you have a particular specialist competence, there is an opportunity to participate in the development of our service offerings.

The demand for consultants in permit matters for industries is particularly high, and we are therefore specifically looking for you who want to complement and expand our offering in this area.

AFRY has a large collective group of environmental consultants who collaborate across the country to ensure quality assurance of assignments and exchange important knowledge, experiences, support each other, and monitor the industry's development together.

Qualifications

To succeed and thrive in your role as an environmental consultant, we are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainable development, or similar
  • At least three years of professional experience in the environmental field
  • Good knowledge of permit processes and environmental impact assessments
  • Excellent ability to present investigations and results both in writing and verbally
  • An analytical and strategic mindset with a good ability to see opportunities and solutions that add value to our clients
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • A valid driver's license (B)

It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have a few years of experience in:

  • Working as a project manager or assignment leader,
  • Working as an environmental consultant, environmental manager at a company, or with a government agency
  • Working with clients and other stakeholders to discuss and present assignments and provide recommendations

At AFRY, we live by our values: “Brave – Devoted – Team players,” which also says a lot about who we are looking for! We place great importance on your personal qualities, as we value commitment, flexibility, and your ability to collaborate with others.
