The Department of Education and Labor Market is now seeking a safety coordinator who wants to contribute to safe, secure, and well-functioning educational environments – in everyday life and when the unexpected occurs.

YOUR ROLE

In the role of safety coordinator, you will work with issues related to safety, security, and preparedness at both operational and strategic levels. The mission is coordinating and supportive, focusing on creating functioning structures for safety work in educational activities with different conditions.

Your work will involve leading and coordinating the department's safety, security, and preparedness efforts, as well as supporting managers and operations in their daily work. The role entails significant personal responsibility where you independently plan, drive, and follow up on your work within the framework of the assignment.

A central part of your role is to develop, implement, and follow up on plans, governing documents, routines, and exercises that are adapted to the context of schools and education. The assignment also includes conducting, writing, and quality assuring service documents, investigations, and decision-making materials related to your area of responsibility.

Furthermore, you will conduct and support risk and vulnerability analyses, develop situational reports and decision-making materials, and participate in the department's crisis management organization. The role also includes creating safety and crime prevention work in collaboration with internal and external actors.

Educational and informational initiatives for managers and employees are a natural part of the assignment, as well as assisting in investigations, incident analyses, and insurance matters. You will also be the department's fire safety officer and be responsible for systematic fire safety work.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with a university degree in security or equivalent education and experience that the employer deems comparable.

The role requires the ability to work independently and drive issues forward within safety, security, and preparedness. You need to be able to work in a structured manner and have the ability to conduct and support risk and vulnerability analyses and translate analyses into concrete and operational measures.

In a role where you meet various operations and sometimes need to act when situations change or unexpected events occur, you need to be stable, solution-oriented, and collaborative. You have an easy time building trust and good relationships with colleagues, other functions within the municipality, and external actors.

You are communicative and pedagogical and can adapt your message in both speech and writing based on the audience and situation. Excellent knowledge of Swedish is a requirement. Knowledge of relevant legislation in the field of safety and security is an advantage.

A valid driver's license (B) is required for the position, and you must be able to present a valid extract from the criminal record before employment.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

The position is located within the Department of Education and Labor Market and belongs to the unit for premises and safety. Here, you will be part of a team with various competencies in the area of premises and safety, where together you form an important support function for the department's operations.

The assignment involves both independent work and close collaboration with colleagues and other functions within the municipality. You will be based at City Hall, but the assignment is operationally close and involves regularly working in schools, preschools, and other operations throughout the municipality.
